First freeze of the season yesterday (29 F/-2 C) and even colder this morning with a low of 26 F/-3 C. Lows below freezing through Sunday morning before moderating. Leaves at peak now. Quite the delayed autumn this year.

Over a foot of snow in Gaylord. I need to visit. You're not an engineer, no way. You lick windows for a living. Final total in gaylord came to 11.7". The UP broke a foot:

Yeah, this fall has really surprised me. I hope I'm wrong again Last winter I thought the same thing about above-freezing highs but we ended up having a super mild winter except for February. A repeat of that would be nice

A warmup is coming. Into the 60's by Monday. Lows moving into the 40's, as opposed to below freezing.

Warm day today, got to 74 (23 c) after a low of 35 (2 c). Big change from the beginning of the week. Two more warm days this weekend before it looks like a pretty stable and average period sets in.

Another cold frosty morning with a low of 23 F/-5 C. It's 28 F/-2 C as of the 9AM update. Should be a nice crisp day with sunny skies and highs in the low 50s.

Large temperature spread this morning in Paris city proper between Lariboisière hospital (6.7°C/44°F) and Longchamp racecourse in the Bois de Boulogne (-1.1°C/30°F). The latter is almost always colder than the airports despite being much closer to the city center, proving that UHI is largely a local effect. I can feel it when I enter the park.

Snow icons have been removed from FMI's forecast both for Turku and Riga, so Doña Jimena can sleep peacefully at least for a while yet. Not that there's any surprising in the forecast, Turku's first settling snow is around mid November on average.

Forecast high of 10C today, but as of 2:00pm it's only 3C with a decent amount of clouds so I doubt we'll warm up that much.

Temperatures in Europe, interestingly, the temperature in southern Finland and the northern part of my country is above average, elsewhere in the region below average. It continues to be above average in the British isles and the southern Balkans.
