The French NT had to train in a rather cold temperature yesterday:
Today during the match it will be warmer, around 6C.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Saskatoon and much of the rest of the province, our first one of the season.
We currently have a ton of ice pellets coming down. I stepped outside to see how the ground felt and it was slippery as hell, so I expect the roads will be skating rinks this evening. Getting home from work is gonna be so much fun...

Partly cloudy and seasonably cool today, high/low of 51/40 @ LGA and 50/38 @ Farmingdale. Felt much warmer than yesterday despite similar temps, as wind, clouds, and scattered showers took place yesterday.

Storm's been hitting us nice and hard today. We haven't had that much snow but the wind is ferocious and blowing it everywhere. Roads were crappy but not as bad as I was expecting, much less ice than I would've thought considering how wet it was earlier in the day. Overall, city driving is crappy but doable. Highway driving is another story, though. Every highway leading in and out of Saskatoon currently has a "Travel Not Recommended" designation, and every highway in and out of Regina is closed, and for good reason: (red is closed, white is travel not recommended, yellow is winter conditions, black is seasonal conditions)

Local NWS office confirmed that a 5th tornado touched down on Long Island on Saturday. That makes the outbreak of November 13, 2021 easily the worst in my lifetime in the NYC metro. Also the worst outbreak since November 16, 1989 when 8 twisters touched down in the metro area, including an F1 in Orange County, NY that sadly took the lives of 9 people.

On top of the entire region of southwestern BC being cut off from Canada due to mudslides, washouts and rockslides, there's been some pretty disastrous flooding in the Fraser Valley in the wake of the rainstorm, east of Vancouver.
PS: Apologize for the barrage of tweets but this entire situation is surreal.

@frozen-I69 can you please NOT quote all those twitter things please. Very annoying when loading the page. Cold spell keeps getting amped up - highs of 3°C seeping into the forecast, wonder if we'll get another December 2010. Well, if you read netweather.tv, you'd think that was going to happen every year.

BBC 14 day forecast has sleet. That's the first wintry precipitation in any forecast. Isn't it simply stunning?

Well, last night's storm dropped a decent amount of snow on us but thankfully not enough to be really debilitating. Unfortunately though we did get hit with fairly icy roads. Traffic was fairly slow all-around today.
I had a very hairy moment this evening on a thankfully empty and wide open road, when I hit the brakes as I was coming up to an intersection (only going around 25 km/h) and there was a full 3 or 4 seconds where the car simply didn't slow down whatsoever, despite pressing the brake pedal to the floor and the ABS kicking in as hard as it could. Nowhere else was quite that bad thankfully, but stopping at intersections is always sketchy in these conditions, and starting up afterwards is quite a slog.
I don't mind snow on the ground but ice sucks. That's the advantage of mid-winter snowfalls, it's cold enough that they tend to be powdery snow rather than having a rain/snow mix and temperatures straddling the freezing line like we've had the past couple days.

Highways around Winnipeg are closed due to ice at the moment. Regarding the ABS I always get better results by slowly pressing the brake pedal and letting the winter tires do their work. Few times where I have pushed brake pedal to the floor, I was not stopping so let off and gently pushed brake for a better result.
