Seen nothing to the west from here. Must be on the western edge of the peak district.

There's already been reported fatalities, and some of the main motorways in my area have now been closed.

Extremely cold night last night in Umeå. Umeå Airport recorded -21.5'C. Since the airport station opened in 1965, the November record is -24.4'C. I'll list the years the temp November temp has reached -21.5'C or lower: Year | Temp | 2021 | -21.5 | 2010 | -21.6 | 1998 | -23.5 | 1995 | -21.5
| 1983 | -22.1 | 1971 | -22.5 | 1968 | -24.2 | 1965 | -24.4 |
I was really taken aback by the temp because so far the coldest temperature I've experienced myself this year has been -7'C or something thereabout. It wasn't until the 21st of November that winter arrived (SMHI definition, which in this case was extremely similar to my own experience), and the coldest temperature so far has been -12.1, a few weeks ago with only two days having reached below -10'C this season. Then, yesterday evening I happened to glance at the weather icon on my computer task bar and saw -21'C and was like lol wtf my weather app must've switched to showing some other place than Umeå, but then I checked and it checked out. Even the uni station managed to get down to -19.6'C, the first below -10'C of this season, and by a huge margin. We also got our first real snowfall event a couple days ago (we've had a couple days with some light dusting before but no actual measurable snowfall until we got about 15cm a few days ago)

lol, and again, she is trying to shitting on me in a delicate way. She seems to want to prove that she lives in the subtropics, but at the same time I'm a disgusting pig who lives somewhere in the arctics. And in general, is that Kiitsak Latvian? Why are you constantly posting his twitter posts? You can't find any Latvians on Twitter to post? So far, it has been the practice in this forum for each poster to post about their own area, rather than posting on "behalf" of some other forum members. Ridiculous. Oh my, you are actually projecting your own thoughts on me. I have never ever said anything you are mentioning. And Kiitsak is meteorologist in Estonian Environment Agency. There is snow in eastern Latvia now, for example, in Rēzekne: And there is snow in parts of Lithuania including Vilnius as well:

cold air aloft after a cold front. very windy but temperatures just below average for November temperature drop in Orange, MA last few days. barely a freeze wind is preventing a drop, real cold or fake cold? Mount Washington dropped from 30°F to 0°F after the cold air moved in

Two men have been killed by falling trees as Storm Arwen lashed parts of the UK with high winds, rain and snow.
A head teacher died after a tree fell onto his car in Antrim and another man was hit by a falling tree in Cumbria. In Scotland, more than 100,000 people lost power.
Gusts reached speeds of 98mph in Northumberland, and about 120 lorries became stuck in snow on the M62.
There are further warnings for wind, snow and ice across the UK on Saturday.
A rare red warning for wind had been issued by the Met Office on Friday across the east coast of Scotland and north-east England, with the highest speeds of 98mph recorded at Brizlee Wood in Northumberland.

We've had rain, wet snow/sleet showers, and wind here in York. We just don't ever get snow here. It's fucking ridiculous.
