Reached 86 (30 c) yesterday, which is just 3 F off the record and the T-4th hottest April temp!
Itโs also the 2nd earliest 30 c ever, 1 day behind 1989.
Much cooler these next few days but likely no precipitation so this will go down as one of the driest Aprils ever.

ANZAC Day Forecast For Capital and Regional Cities ( Source: Weatherzone ) Wondering how the weather will be like for this year's Anzac Day? Weatherzone has the latest forecast for this ANZAC Day 2022, so you can plan ahead and enjoy the last day of this long weekend. Here we go! Mild temperatures (min: mid to high teens, max: low to mid 20s), partly cloudy skies, but humid and showery conditions are expected for Sydney and Brisbane as a moist onshore flux extends along the east coast. Sydney will see light onshore winds, while fresh southeasterlies will prevail during the afternoon in Brisbane. Canberra will see a cold and foggy morning (min: 5C), with light winds dominating throughout the day, partly cloudy skies and a cool daytime maximum temperature (high teens). Generally dry conditions, partly cloudy skies and light winds are forecast for Melbourne, with the chance of early morning fog and temperatures falling in the low 20s (min: 9C) as a high pressure sits in the south. Light winds and cloudy skies are forecast down south in Hobart, with generally dry but cool conditions (min: 9C, and daytime temperatures falling in the high teens) expected throughout the day, and the chance of fog in the morning. Mild temperatures (min: 16C and max in the mid 20s) are forecast for Adelaide as warm and moderate easterly winds prevail throughout the day. The city will see increased cloud cover towards the afternoon and evening with the chance of a late shower. A cold front is set to arrive in Perth later this ANZAC day, with increasing cloud cover throughout the day, moderate winds, but warm temperatures (min: 17C and max in the high 20s). As the front moves in, showers become a high chance in the late evening, with a thunderstorm also possible. Finally, warm and light winds and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are expected in Darwin (min: 24, max 34C), only with a slight chance of showers in the morning and afternoon. With mostly settled weather conditions this ANZAC day in the eight major Australian cities, we wish you a happy last day of this long weekend!

High/low of 62F/46F and 61F/48F the past 2 days here, as this pattern shown below has held in place, with gay onshore SE'ly winds bringing marine clouds, capping temperatures when we should be getting well into the 80s with a proper westerly flow.

So that's why we have 2 days of useless cloud again, must be a system from the north. Could be our cloudiest April on record yet, it's only at 119 hours so far. Least it's been warmer than average

Chilly day with a high of only 52 F/11 C. Temperature dropped below 50 F/10 C at 3:00PM and never rebounded thanks to overcast skies and a gusty northwest wind.
Cold night on tap with a forecast low of 32 F/0 C and tomorrow will be cool again with a high of 52 F/11 C. Fire Weather Watch in effect tomorrow and Friday.

Warm, pleasant last two daysโboth highs of 76 (24 c). Wonโt snow the next few days, making April the first snowless one since 1992.
Interesting stats on snowfall this season:
December 31-March 18: 43.4โ (+23.3โ, 216% of normal) 9/1-12/30, 3/19-4/30: 0.7โ (-29.7โ, 2% of normal)
Overall, weโre at about 89% of normal snowfall this winter but itโs extremely concentrated like a northeast winter.
Normally 12/31-3/18 gets only 40% of seasonal snowfall through the end of April, currently that period has accounted for 98% of our snowfall this winter.

The NW cloudband is at it again giving us occasional rain (first the Tasman Sea, and now that shit). But we're not very hard by it and today it is has missed us...

Looks like yesterday morning was the first frost of the year with 0.0 C recorded at the airport. You back in NZ? Was it Christchurch? That's right. It's been pretty chilly, no more warm days. Thankfully I'm going back to BKK next week. The forecast shows I might catch a couple of warm days before then and hopefully avoid the worst of Thailand's hot season ๐

Looks like our persistent unseasonal cold is finally over. We're finally reaching above average temperatures and heading straight up into the 20s next week.

It is such a sad day: end of April, but it has failed to reach 10C, high is 9.6C in Riga. It is a cold April and the spring seems to be cancelled this year. We have forgotten how spring can be nice, considering that in 2020 and 2021 both April and May were colder than normal. It can be that May will be cold this year again, the first days do not look good in the forecast.

There's a strong dryline in western Oklahoma today. There's a severe weather risk for much of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska.

The NW cloudband looks impressive from space (it looks like a tail of a mega-cyclone or something) and now it's over Sydney, giving us moderate rain (though not too heavy thank God):
