A local guru, Pilko's report "Good morning trendsetters.. What a remarkable weather pattern currently affecting Australia. A tremendous cold blast is currently roaring thru the south eastern states with every weather phenomena associated with it, yes including tornadoes 😳 The northern half of WA continues to get drenched as moisture streams in from the Indian Ocean, from a tropical low of all things. Some remarkable rainfall totals continue to come in from that part of the world. Up here in the Top End, we have humid winds getting dragged across us from the moisture laden tropical regions to our north. That’s producing a few showers and even allowed Hector to again grace the Tiwi Islands. Showers on the mainland were pretty isolated but Thorak, near Robertson Barracks managed 22mm. Today looks very similar to yesterday and in fact I feel a better chance of some action later as the moisture appears a bit deeper than yesterday. A cool burst is approaching and will reach the base of the Top End in coming days, but will struggle to clean out this humid air that sits over us atm. Next week looks better for a more substantial dry burst, so sit tight and enjoy the rain .. if you get any that is 🤔😝 Have a great day" 👍

'A Bizarre Winter' Winter in Broome usually means endless blue skies, 32 degrees, beach activities and fun in the sun. 2022 has again thrown another curve ball. Todays scenes around Broome continued that trend of difference. A nice change of scenery I have to admit.

From Pilko's Chat On Weather FB page: "Good evening trendsetters.. Finally there is some light at the end of the tunnel for those wanting to see the dry season actually make an appearance . A powerful cold blast is due to belt the living day lights out of the south eastern states during this weekend and this time it should manage to push up through the Top End by about Thursday. I am not convinced about this dry surge lasting too long however, with truckloads of moisture still present across the Arafura Sea, but it will be nice to have a couple of dry days. Tomorrow and Sunday look a fair chance of a shower or storm about the northern Top End as moisture again increases from the NE. Rainfall chances diminish a little during the week before the dry surge arrives on Thursday. This intriguing weather pattern continues across much of northern Australia and unseasonable showers and storms are continuing to fall across countryside that’s still drying out from the wet season, tho I don’t think anyone is complaining 😝 Don’t worry, the dry season proper will get here eventually… just in time for the build up."

Looks like a 'build up' beast approaching the City from the south, south east... Except its June and will surely die in the arse before making the coast ?

Just for laughs and to be taken only with the finest of salt grains.. Second last week of June on this afternoon's GFS. Twin weak tropical lows in the Arafura and the gulf lol But hey... the way this "dry" season is going so far nothing would surprise me!
