Pretty impressive for this area. Going to enjoy it while I can, don't know what the total will be? Maybe 7 inches? imageshack.com/a/img924/6496/4ClCet.jpgDepends how much comes down. Bear in mind this observation is in the shade so there may be more in exposed areas. This is a Conservative estimate.

It's really hard to tell how much snow there is. Apparently only half an inch fell in the last 90 mins, not sure if I believe that.
It's been snowing heavily for quite a while.

I saw this right when I was going to bed and was frankly stunned, but there was actual snowfall at -14°C last night!
I've hardly seen anything like this in this location, it must've been back in 2010 this could possibly last have happened. These temps normally mean clear skies and all that. Just goes to show what a massive anomaly this cold wave is...

Got up to a thick covering of snow. Probably got around 4cm.

Wow, it's -11.1°C outside but still a low-pressure system strong enough to bring blizzard-like conditions with basically next to no visibility and the snow is just coming down like crazy. This is so rare, snowfall at these temps hardly don't exist here and I assume there's only this narrow timeframe at the end of February where the Baltic Sea can be cold enough to enable extreme cold snaps along with low-pressure systems. In December the same wind would've meant -4°C I suppose. The pressure is 1043hPa. That's now low pressure.

Good snow day across Hokkaido with extreme blizzard conditions expected on the Sea of Japan coast. Here's a live shot from 旭川 (Asahikawa): And from 小樽 (Otaru) which is on the Sea of Japan coast: And four minutes later:

Snowing here again. Blowing in the wind really unusual to see for here.

The airport picked up 11.1” (28 cm) as of 7 AM and it’s been snowing since. Gave me a day off so no complaints here.

It's hard to get a picture of the average snow depth here, because it is so cold that it is powdery snow that has blown about. Apparently the level snow is 20-30cm but drifts are reaching 10ft (300cm) in some places. Insane stuff.

Snow depth in Trondheim this morning...March 3th The city proper: 27 cm at Lade (13 m) 58 cm at Saupstad (135 m) 57 cm at Sverresborg (156 m) Distance from Lade to Saupstad is ca 12 km as the crow flies. the snow recording at Voll (127 m) does not work properly. ... just south/ inland of the city proper but in municipality: 19 cm at Leinstrand ... Værnes Airport (east of Trondheim) 18 cm Never been so many stations recording snow before! Maybe the met office has seen my complaints.. Wish some of these stations also will be available at yr.no, as they also record temps incl max/min and precip. Last time we had a recording station at low elevation comparable to the city center was like...80 years ago? Now, since 2014, we also have Lade and Ranheim, but they have been down for a while but now Lade have been upgraded. A look at Røros: 100 cm at Aursund (685 m) near Røros 58 cm at Røros (625 m, airport)

We still have 3 inches of solid snow cover here. It was supposed to warm up today, but fog kept the temp below 1c.

About 4-5" of snow now I'd guess as it's beginning to melt. Very slushy and will be dangerous and slippery for some time yet with the gradually milder air.
First four days of March coming in 8.0°C below the 1981-2010 average locally. Incredible.
