We're a long way off getting snow yet, having said that, the more front-loaded the winter is here, the better. That's obviously because of our insane latitude During cool Octobers, inland areas can start to get snowfalls rather soon or already by now though. The Baltic Sea remains way too mild for that to happen here.

We got our first real snowfall last night. Snowed in Umeå too. In Tavelsjö there is still some snow on the ground.

When it snowed the most there were reasonably sized flakes. Only lasted for like five minutes though, and then it drizzled snow for maybe 20 more minutes

I think Halloween's snowfall was the first of the season. On the evening of Halloween, it was snowing slightly and there was a dusting on the ground in Umeå, and IIRC, when we woke up in Tavelsjö, there was a few centimeters of snow and still snowing. For days it kept snowing I believe until we had perhaps 20cm in Tavelsjö and like 30-40cm in Umeå. They had gotten the brunt of the sea-effect snow.

What an ass November that was. Well, I'm sure some people would've loved it.

Another snowfall last night, a thin layer but just enough to lighten everything up. Nice.

Snowed for a few hours today with some gusty winds but temps were above freezing so no accumulation at lower elevations.

First snow of the year in the high part of my valley (at about 2000 m of altitude). Tomorrow the snowline should further lower. I can also see the snow line from here, but there are too many clouds for taking any good picture by myself. Source: ValsusaOggiThe view from the webcam in Sestriere (same place shown in the previous picture) that it is still snowing quite a lot over there right now.

First snow traces of the season, but to be honest it looks like we've been hit with a minor ground frost, with peak accumulation being miniscule. The intense humidity and 1°C temps don't help keeping it for long either.

Thursday night had the first snow of the season. 1.5” (4 cm) total. Stilk some scattered snow patches now.
