comparison of snow depth in the northeast mountains 2019 was the champ for the highest peaks; high peaks of the Whites off the scale at over 8 feet. 2018 looks paltry but two big snowstorms each dumped 2 feet of snow in the Whites. 2020 looks decent for a mild rainy start to the winter. 2017 was rather terrible, not much of a winter wonderland at all. Some very deep snow photos from 2019 on the side of Mt. Washington. Text from the tweet: Did you know that maximum snow depth at Mt. Mansfield is typically in March? It is currently at a season-high 80". This exceeds the 65 year average for the date by 14". On a related note, here's a look at current snow depth across our region compared to the last three years.via NWS Burlington March 2

Fucking Finland and their lesser winter precipitation amounts At least you can see a slightly darker spot around Umeå now (immediately west of that island in the north)

Speagles84 House 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, PA 2019/2020 As of 3/17/2020 5 pm. Update after a few events I missed. October: T November: 4.3" December: 9.8" January: - 7.8" February: - 15.2" March: - 3.5" April: - May: -
Season: - 39.7" Current Snow depth: - 0.0"
Not much time left to get to my annual snowfall of 50.5". I knew all along after January it would be a struggle. Its rare to have January as my 3rd (or possibly even 4th) snowiest month.

Snow cover at the agricultural fields in the southern part of Umeå this season. Max depth of 27cm and never any continuous snow cover for 30 days, with the latest day that had any snow cover being the 10th of March. More sheltered parts of the city have had continuous snow since December though.

We're getting a bunch of snow this morning. I don't think it's very heavy in terms of quantity but it's super windy out so it's blowing everywhere and looks like a snow storm anyway. I'd like to think this will be our last major snowfall of the season, but chances are we'll get some more in April.

I am not a fan of snow, because winters tend to be very long in Latvia. This winter 2019/20, there has been practically no snow on the ground except a handful of days. A threatening forecast from the ECMWF weather model promises snow for Easter Sunday, I hope it won't happen:

Speagles84 House 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, PA 2019/2020 As of 4/10/2020 4 pm. Thought I was done, but Spring has a hard time winning in Western PA some years. Another 7 month snow season here October: T November: 4.3" December: 9.8" January: - 7.8" February: - 15.2" March: - 3.8" April: - 0.6" May: - Season: - 40.6" Current Snow depth: - 0.5" This should be it. We have snow in the forecast next week a few more times, but its unlikely to stick IMO

There will be no snow this Easter, the previous forecast has scared the snow away. Some sleet is still possible next Tuesday.

Possibility of a bit of snow mixed with rain on Sunday evening. Would be the third Easter snow since I moved to KC - it also happened in 2016 and 2018. (So will there be another one in 2022?)

Take a look at what the Canadian model is showing. It's only 78 hours out too, so it's within a reasonable time range.
