Very cool in BKK with all that cold air coming down from the NE. I don't think I've ever seen such cool temps in October before. I had to dig out my jeans! DMK barely got above 24 C:

Strong October cold snaps here in recent years have been accompanied by unusually dry conditions. On Oct 20, 2011 we got down to freezing and were in severe drought then. Sept - Oct 2017 combined had just 0.56" of rainfall - got down to 28F on 10/29/17. Since Sept 12 of this year, there's been less than a quarter of an inch of rainfall.
NWS is currently calling for 34F Tuesday night and Wunderground shows 32F!

Atlanta has recorded just 2.11" of rainfall since September 1, compared to an average of 5.55" during that time period. Also, NWS is calling for a low of 34F here on Wednesday. The dry soils must contribute to additional radiational cooling.

Across the PNW, drought impacts have gradually began to impact communities and the economy in recent weeks but our extremely extended summer will finally draw to a close tonight, after the warmest (and one of the driest) first half of October on record, which was also preceded by a warmer and drier than normal August and September.
