From Pilko's Chat on Weather FB Group: Good morning trendsetters.. Well the run of sub 20 degree mornings has ended for Darwin, with a balmy low of 21.1 this morning which probably explains why I kicked the doona off at some hour last night. A little bit of cloud drifted over late yesterday and as a general rule, mid level or low cloud means moisture and moisture means heat (or humidity). And whilst it’s not quite warm enough to remove the beanies just yet, the next week or so is likely to see a bit more humidity across the north as a trough tracks thru central parts and our dry SE winds ease and tend more easterly, allowing that dreaded humidity to sneak back in. NE parts of the Top End is likely to see a few showers redevelop in coming days, mainly coastal but even Darwin suddenly has a ten percent chance of a light shower next week. Now wouldn’t a light sprinkle be a nice surprise, especially if it’s coming from the clouds 🤔😝 Anyhow we will watch the models and monitor for any changes that might influence our weather more favourably.. Have an awesome Friday everyone 🙂 Note the attached charts show some very welcome and well timed rainfall across the southern states after one of the driest May’s on record.

Very hot ( for June ) day across the Top End... and record breaking June heat at Borroloola ( there may be others, but I've not fact checked yet ) 35.6c beating the previous June record set on the 4th, 2003 Darwin maxed at 34.1c, and Noonamah in the rural region ( 40klm south by road ) hit 35.3c.

The record breaking June heat continues...MacArthur River Mine topped out at a new June record today - 35.7c Darwin region in the 34c to 36c range, but no records set, but the dp's in the low 20ç's made it a tough day out in the sun. DP's out in Arnhemland were wet season-ish
