Went for a walk near the LI sound yesterday, temps of 80°F and humid, with plentiful sun later in the day. Today it’s slightly warmer, 83°F with dewpoints in the low 70s, and it’s been mostly sunny. Save for this rogue storm cell to my northwest earlier which gave dry thunder and interesting skies.

Btw the snow amounts this winter was so extreme there were still snow piles laying around in June. This was June 5th. And you could see swathes of forest floor that hadn't really started growing yet or gotten leaves due to being covered by snow until so late.

The dryness has continued on Long Island, with 1.03” (about 30% of normal) of rainfall occurring in June, and 1.22” since May 21. Native grasses looking nice and parched, great summer look. Another nice open field at sunset, with some thunder in the vicinity that evening. Went down to the south Jersey shore for the holiday last weekend. In the tidal marshes. Swimming was very good with water temps into the low 80s, much more comfortable than the low 70s in the ocean in early July. Also a very subtropique New Bern Benfxmth ideal weather, with temps in the low 90s with dew points in the 70s, along with a dry thunderstorm at night. Pine Barrens, just a few miles inland from the tidal marshes. Very subtropical/southern vegetation look, but don’t be fooled. These areas have pretty big diurnals because of the sandy soils, so plenty of very cold nights in winter.

Been a long time since I posted pics here due to a dead phone. Finally got a new one recently. Double rainbow a few days ago after a thunderstorm. More tropical rain coming... Went to the beach today. Temp was 82F. Sky was hazy from smoke. The sun was not strong at all thanks to the smoke and high humidity (dews around 75F). Driving back home

As was to be feared, after a dry May and June, July has been again quite miserable, quite rainy and I cannot boast of high temperatures. In the evening, however, the sun shined; tonight from the car window near my place.

greysrigging that girl's kinda cute tbh, probably around my age too A very pretty young lady for sure, she has a slightly exotic look, having a 6' tall Danish mother and a Venezuelan/Carribean father. She didn't wanna come out on the drive, saying to her parents, "I'm sick of doing all this nature stuff; I wanna go shopping...." ( Her mum has a PHD in Biology so was in her element in the Top End bush. ) So I used teenager psychology 101 as in, 'I'll let you drive my 4WD Ute...', so then she was happy to come along....lol. Only a kid still, 15 years old and shit scared of the Aussie bush re all the creatures that can maim and kill European teenagers.... which of course I naturally embellished and bullshitted on about at every opportunity. Really scared of spiders....lol....I found a hermit crab in its shell, picked it up and handed it to her saying, 'look at this nice shell....' , so she's holding it in the palm of her hand, then the crab came out.... faark it was funny..... a scream and tossed it away like a baseball She had never even heard of a hermit crab, let alone held one....hahaha

Great summer's day, with on and off showers, sometimes thundery and plenty of rain. Only 16.7 mm (0.66") at Orly airport, one of the lowest totals of the metro. 51.5 mm (2.03") @ Paris-Montsouris, which is this year's largest daily total there. Storm clouds towering over Paris this afternoon (dp was around 22°C/72°F): Clouds over Paris seen from afar (about 50 km) later in the evening:
