next two days had thick smoke, really bad luck. first smoky days in Vancouver. Day after wasn't photo worthy it was so smoky, could feel the smoke in my lungs. next day went to bowen island, still some smoke but as I was just walking around an island smoke ruining the views didn't matter much. some nice forest

next Thursday (next day I did a long hike) was somewhat smoky but still gave it a chance. Did Brunswick and Harvey which overlook Howe Sound, the fjord west of Vancouver. Did just Harvey the summer before but the summit was in a cloud. Smoke filled fjord is better than no view of the fjord. Short scary looking ridge at the top of Brunswick, turns out I missed the true summit which required more scramble really fun hike with a lot of elevation gain (started at 200 feet, Brunswick is 5800 and went back down to 4800 and then up to 5400 to get to Harvey), shame it was a clear day next day I rented a car and went to Golden Ears (25 miles east of Vancouver) and didn't do the summit because of how smoky it was, did a nice lower elevation walk and the smoke partly cleared. Following day I drove to Mount Baker Forest

Hannegan Peak in the evening light. views of the distant peaks were smoke obscured valley views while climbing down from the pass. Felt less wild compared to when I was in 2021 with all the snow melted, few waterfall from the snow / glacier melt echoing on the walls

camped at the Hannegan Trailhead then drove up to Artist Point and hiked Ptarmidge. was a hot day with no shade, had a bit of a headache and kinda grumpy and a little disappointed it didn't get closer to Baker like Railroad Grade. Really nice light late in the day though
