Here's the forecast for the f1rst 6 days of May. 1st of May is the 'official' start of the dry season across the Top End. Generally we see the last of the 35c max's by mid May and the first sub 20c mins about the same time. Since 1941, only 27 May days have reached 35c at the Airport. And none in May since 2016 when there were 4 such days. 1941-1999 = 16 days 2000-2023 = 11 days

Fannie Bay looking towards East Point yesterday ( a 35.8c day at East Point AWS ) The May record max at Darwin Airport is 36.0c back in 1942 The Darwin Airport site record for May is 36.0c in 1942. There's a large heatwave across most of the world's tropics since January 2024. Most tropics are 2-3°C warmer than average.

Deffo a chill in the air at dawn.... This morning's min of 21.1c is the coolest temp at the Airport for more than 8 months. 5th Sept 2023 the temp dipped to 20.4c. The last sub 20c min was 19.2c on the 2nd Sept.

1.00pm and still sub 30c at Darwin Airport.... only made it 29.8c so far.... superb dry season day, cool south easterlies and low dps of 13c. Coolest day since an overcast 29.6c back on the 14th March
