The sole good picture I got from the blizzard on Friday when I was alone out walking. I didn't see a human being on Friday night in East Nyköping

It was bloody cold this morning. -27'C. It was very beautiful though. And bright. It's finally bright during the morning dog walks. It was also a very incredible sunrise with deep aquas and persimmon stretching very high up in the sky. Brr. How long did you walk in that? how were taking photos? Even smartphone gloves that work would feel cold in that temperatures. Great sunrise; can tell it's cold from the photo; looks still and very frozen. But can't tell that it's -27°C.

Sweden really look cold in these days! To me it is not so surprising to don't see much human activity over there ( Lommaren Babu). Surely those are beautiful sceneries tough. We are getting some snow too today, but it is much warmer and so there is not much accumulation.

About a half-hour walk. My body was fine because I put on a fleece under my jacket, and put on thermal cover trousers, though by the end of it I started feeling agony in my face. And yeah, I would take off my gloves to take the pictures, and after just 10-15 seconds they would sting really bad.

Wet weather resumes, though the colder temps make it more enjoyable. It was bloody cold this morning. -27'C. It was very beautiful though. And bright. It lacks the "misty component" to look damn cold, but an impressive temp nonetheless. Thank you for braving the cold for us.

Scarf is a decent compromise. I've never walked that long in those temperatures. Did two five-minute walks in -24°C with a break in a store a couple days ago; after a windy day with not quite as cold temperatures it felt very cold but didn't sting as bad. SLRs kinda work better with gloves. How long did the cold last? Looks like there was a bit of an inversion? Checked Umeå. Was -25°C at 9 am, didn't break -20°C till 11:20 am, our cold mornings would end much faster. Does Tavelsjö have an official weather station? Your snow has a purple tinge in the first photo. Neat.

Nothing wrong with a set of pictures of bare trees and under overcast skies. Love this atmosphere; it will be gone soon enough. My favorite is the boardwalk pic. For once it was sunny and chilly today (temps in the mid-30s). Paris looks better in the sun. Like the first photo and the one after "that sky" the best. All the scarves make it look colder than it is. The iPhone X ad and the Napoleon symbol is a contrast in eras. I've seen seagulls on Long Island on warm-is winter days in late winter not the coldest. Which one is the boardwalk photo?

Frost has returned. At least that's nice. There's more frost the further up and out you go on the spruce because of more exposure to the clear night sky. A look over the lake through the mini bus window. Oh and nei, there's none for Tavelsjö at the northern edge of the lake, but Långviksvallen on the western edge has got a station run by the road and traffic authority. www.weatherhq.com/weather-station/långviksvallen it's been very cold ever since February began.

I was out yesterday and looked for indices of subtropique and I found quite a few This seems like something you could see in Niigata after all This little dam in front of the castle kind of looked like how I'm sure a similar dam would've looked in subtropique NYC over Xmas... Floating ice in front of the Grand Hotel? I'm sure that happens in Lugano too from time to time! So all in all, during this -8°C subtropique control Nyköping gets subtropique indice 444 and has passed the test

Mates went walking in the hills, seriously regret not going now. No snow at all stuck down here! What a difference a few dozen meters make when the temps are positive! This morning when I left home, everything was white whereas it was almost snow-free at work (same distance from the center of the UHI but a little bit less elevated). Central Paris looked completely snow-free from the elevated subway, of course. My stairs are looking more and more subtropique now, though still not Stockholm-level subtropique. nei I dunno, extreme cold seems to be often accompanied with ice fog and moderate to severe cold also often has a misty component to it. The visibility is not at its maximum, even though it isn't foggy. Maybe I'm just too accustomed to radiative cold. As for the scarves, they're as much a fashion statement or a plain habit than a necessity. I've seen a man wearing a fucking scarf on a 90°F+ day in Paris once. The boardwalk pic is ilmc's last.

Nice image from Sandringham beach January 6 (was a max of 42C in Melbourne that day). In case you were wondering... yes the water was perfect.
