9/24 ~ 48.6°
Sun is setting noticeably earlier now (before 7). I hate it. Still feeling fairly potent, but it’s the sun of course.

Peak sun angle today (September 25th) is at 62.77 degrees. It's dropping at about a rate of 0.4 degrees a day this time of year.
By the end of this week (Sunday, October 1st) the peak sun angle is going to be at 60.43 degrees. When the sun angle drops below 60 degrees at it's peak is when you can definitely tell the sun angle is getting lower, which coincidentally happens bang on the start of October usually on average.

I think I've only experienced sun that high once in southern Poland. It was long ago and I mostly only remember oppressive heat and a bus with a broken AC. That trip was the beginning of my cold-loving tendencies.
I have no interest in traveling south but some friends who have traveled in Mediterranean countries and tropics say the high sun in those places feels surreal because it effectively disappears from view. Here it's "on the side" for most of the year.

34.6 degrees today. It's better now that we've passed the autumn equinox, because at least you now know most days of the year get more strength in the sun than today does.
Though saying that, this is the time of year when the midday sun starts to come in through the top of my office window, so it's actually warmer indoors today than a sunny day at the same temperature would have been a week or two ago.

Is that a significant turning point in the real-feel of your climate? Longer nights, less sun exposure and all that. Probably even nights get nicer now because the less distinct sunlight during the day?

Probably even nights get nicer now because the less distinct sunlight during the day? I definitely notice the feeling now, there's longer shadows at mid-day, it gets dark earlier, sun angle is harsh for less time in the day, etc. The nights haven't gotten any better and the weather hasn't cooled. It's still about 90 F during the day and 77 F at night.
