Month started off rather cool, but turned warm for the remainder. Had 2 thunder days at my place, 3 with lightning seen. A far, FAR better month than the piece of shit that was November 2016, which by comparison averaged 10.6/28.1C at the airport. For comparison: www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/201611/html/IDCJDW5059.201611.shtmlDaily summary from the airport

Did you get a good storm in the end? Looks like you had a pretty good month.

Did you get a good storm in the end? Looks like you had a pretty good month. Had some rain overnight and there were storms passing by only 30-40km either side of me, but most of the lightning was blocked by thick low cloud. Would've been an excellent show otherwise. Unfortunate side-effect of the moist tropical-originated airmass. There was a nice clear air cell a couple days ago about 100km away which was flashing nicely. Temp-wise definitely one of the better Novembers.

I thought it would have been lower, especially given your location.

The problem with the 0.2mm threshold is that some of those "rain days", particularly in winter, are nothing more than dew accumulation. Overnight in winter can be ridiculously dewy here. On one occasion even my PWS picked up 0.3mm on a clear night! Personally I would use an 0.4mm threshold to weed out the noise.

Also I find it impressive that Renmark recorded somewhat hard freezes every month between May and September! Was not expecting that, although I know it's dry there and nights a good deal colder than Melbourne during winter. July's highs must have been remarkably stable, with an average high of 17 C and the highest high being 20 C.

alex992 I just got lazy with it, my PWS isn't connected to Wunderground or anything so I take the data manually. Outside of the town, out in the prairie where the airport is it gets pretty cold as it's pancake flat and only low shrubbery. The town itself has its own "heat island", with the river, wetlands, irrigation and vegetation all suppressing cooling. At my astronomy spot 20km north of town it's a similar environment to the airport and I've had ice all over my car and gear during my winter sessions, when I get home, there's only dew.

Stats for the whole country:
Average temperature: 3,3°C - A whopping 1,9°C above average, a world of difference this close to freezing. No November can ever be normal after all. I hate this month. Record high: 10,1°C Record low: -9,2°C
Precipitation: 67 mm - Only 107% of the norm but usually a good part of it would be snow. This time it was all in the form of a never-ending drizzle.
Sunshine: 31 h

For South Korea: Average Temperature: 6.8°C (0.8°C below the average / Normal: 7.6°C) Precipitation: 12.7 mm (Only 27% of the normal to the month / Normal: 46.7 mm) In the first half of November, there was a large change in temperature swings due to the effects of "migratory high pressure" and "cold continental high pressure". However, in the second half of the month, the average temperature was mostly lower than normal due to continuously cold and dry air flowed from the continent. In addition, there were many sunny days, the sunshine hours were 206.4 hours, 38.8 hours more than normal(167.6 hours). Such low temperature can be explained by the fact between the two upper layer high pressures formed in the North Pacific, the Bering Sea and the Ural Mountains, and cold air has flowed into the vicinity of the Peninsula. Since mid-November, there has been a negative polar oscillation(strong vortex around the North Pole) that has left the cold air of the Arctic toward mid-latitude, also the La Niña phenomenon in the tropical central to eastern Pacific region contributed for the result.

This was Bingley: Mean max: 7.7C (-0.6C) Mean min: 3.9C (+0.7C) Mean: 5.8C (+0.1C) Rainfall: 59 mm (-44%) Snow: 1 cm (ignore that cm on the 30th, that must have been some kind of glitch) Sunshine: ~ 85 hours (+47%) A very benign month as Novembers go with little of the stormy Atlantic weather we often get at this time of year. Very sunny too, that figure of 85 hours is the figure for Leeming minus about 10% and I won't know a more accurate figure for my area until the Bradford total comes out in the middle of the month, but I think it will have been one of the sunniest on record.

Very odd that you had a much smaller diurnal range than Buxton and lower average max but had a lot more sun.
