Bored in class. Boke! Vitoria-Gasteiz in Basque Country had a significant cooldown from a very flat summer! I inserted 14 hours of sunshine for June since it was the norm for sunny days and the absent day was that very 41.9°C day! What??? What do you think of that year Babu ? Summer a degree or so hotter than I'd like, and a little too dry. Otherwise I'm a huge fan of plateau summers.

very nice year, although why did those cold nights stick around for so long? 508 metres (something like that) elevation at 42°N might play a part Vitoria-Gasteiz is also a little bit inland from Bilbao physically with that mountain barrier blocking the air during the milder coastal nights. As for Babu, yes the summers were perhaps a little bit extreme, but, not unlike a southern heat wave here in Sweden at all, just three consecutive ones. I think having no AC would still have been quite manageable except during those worst days. Lucky for them they have a lake nearby.

Ponta Delgada in the Azores had a very wet November, certainly (along with October) compensating for the sustained above-average summer drought. Still very solid and nice temperatures in my opinion

Babu what do you make of Ottawa 2017 with that flat winter and summer? Absolutely horrible March. Summer was lovely though. Winter was like our normal winters I guess (although I guess a lot better since the highs actually represent the daily temperature there).

I assume that strong sun would've made March feel a lot better than it seemed also. Even down here, cold Marches like that are manageable because of the sun strength, since those are associated with clear nights and high sunshine hours. All in all, I think Ottawa probably had a touch better year than we had because of our outrageous crummer of not rising above 26°C in July and August... Their absence of brutal humid heat waves definitely helped.

Ottawa's crummer was a piece of shit. Lovely for polar bears, salmon, and penguins.
Wow that location in the Azores really could be considered one of the most comfortable climates in the world, you really don't need aircon or heating. And the tiny difference between the absolute temps and the averages. Same latitude as Melbourne.

If you go a page up and look at Funchal, you'd find a climate even comfier if you rose a couple hundreds of metres in elevation to moderate the lows (easily doable on that island) Would that climate at sea level get a Beercules approval? cdweather.boards.net/post/20715/thread

For Funchal, the averages are decent on paper, but the record highs are way too low, and heatwaves are basically non-existent. Not sure what the storm situation is like. I wouldn't mind it, but would find myself pining for more heat, and well variety in general.

Like don't you find it tedious to be constantly sweaty?

Azores can get epic storms and even hurricanes at times, Madeira probably is limited to a few every winter.

Hey Baba babushka, guess what, when I drove to Melbourne in December last year, I was overtaking cars and trucks at 150km/h on the 2-lane highway. I guess I am a child murderer now according to your greentarded wowser species right? How many kronas do I deserve to be fined, and how many years should my license be suspended for, especially since I apparently decided to wish drink driving was legal?

Brandon, Manitoba. The party seems firmly over. What a crazy heat loss between October and November, even by Manitoban standards!
