Syracuse at -3.7F anomaly for the month. Definitely the town that got affected the most in Upstate NY by this cold blast

sounds like a place shalop would be interested in. Also Giorbanguly , can you post a link to where you got that forecast? I couldn't find point forecast from the weather.us link Don't worry I'm way ahead of you. Already booked the hotel.

Nor'easter for Miami on the 3rd? Maybe lol. A winter storm like this requires an anomalously deep trough the likes of which is very rare. I personally can't remember ever experiencing a storm like this in Miami. The GFS is currently forecasting a high of 54F on January 3rd with rain and winds of 30-40 mph on the coast.

Yesterdayโs high of 11 (-12 C) was the coldest December high since 2004 and the 2nd coldest since 1989.
The low of 1 (-18 C) was the coldest December temp since 2013.

Praying the pattern flips sometime in January. Out west, we're still waiting for the equivalent of the winters of 2013-14 and 14-15 that you guys out east experienced.

It hasn't been 50F or above since Dec 24. Tomorrow is forecast to reach 53F per NWS.
NWS is now predicting a high of 32F for New Year's Day!

Good to see Missouri and Louisiana getting in on the action. Lol at 30 F/-1 C giving Gior hope. A little confused with the current temperature reading at my station. Supposedly it jumped from 19 F/-7 C to 33 F/1 C in the span of an hour? NWS was only forecasting a high of 22 F/-6 C today. Yesterday's high was a balmy 20 F/-7 C and the low was 5 F/-15 C. Not much temperature moderation through Friday at least.

GFS predicting a blast of warmth about two weeks away from now. Too far away, I know. Could be until January 8th until we see 30s again! Crazy

Forecast reckoning i see low 50s again next week at the end. Average jan temps in low 50s so light at the end of tunnel near... 60s and 70s just round the corner it seems, would be inevitable not to break 60s unless this is 1977... this cold blast is exceptional in its longevity of days in 30s and nights in teens... ultimately though no daily records should be broken, in fact might still finish as an 8b winter if we dont drop below 15.
Today is great! Feels like a heatwave with temps in low 50s which is normal but i wouldnt know after about losing my nose other day!

Got accumulating snow today, but not much. Probably not more than an inch. I can even see the tops of the blades of grass. Disappointing. This cold is pointless. Looking forward to summer.

with another cold front moving in [is it really a front?] tomorrow during the day will barely be any warmer than tonight. This is near Amherst, MA. Not a common pattern unless the front is strong. Winds gust around noon when the cold airmass moves in.

Nothing interesting like that to report here, but we are heading for a second month in a row with sun around 150% of normal and rain 60% of normal, temps maybe half a degree above average.

Hopefully the ground has been chilled enough that even this meager snow cover will remain for a few days, given the cold forecast. Even then, I'd only expect shaded areas to retain the snow cover.

My station is offline. Son of a mother! I'll have to use the next closest station which is Andover, NJ (K12N). They're currently reporting a reading of 8 F/-13 C with a windchill of -4 F/-20 C. Wind chills potentially down to -15 F/-26 C tonight.
