North Atlantic Ridge expanded enough to encompass Newfoundland. via tropicaltidbits.com. One pocket of Newfoundland reached near 60°F. East of the Rockies up to 60°N or so was rather mild, too. weather underground map. Temperatures don't quite match as the times are different

Nice to see you guys out east finally getting a cold Dec. Still no sign of winter here in the NW. Looks like the ridge will finally break down on Fri opening the door for some much needed precip after 13 consecutive dry days. Hoping the pattern flips sometime in Jan.

Looks like you're at least close to average temperature wise. Hopefully it'll just be cold and snowy all over the place this winter.

1.9” (5 cm) of snow through 7 PM at the airport. Probably more since.
Looks like a little more here—probably around 3” (8 cm) or so.
BTW, orchard park, where the Bills stadium is, had 16.7” (42 cm)!

GFS model trend is for no snow tomorrow. No rain either; storm track shifting inland

Yesterday finished with 2.9” (7.4 cm) at the airport. It’s snowed all day today too but it’s been pretty light.
It also hasn’t gotten past 28 (-2 C) today. The normal first ice day is December 3rd, so this would be about a week late.

Has been snowing lightly all day. A nice 14 cm at Artukainen, though it seems a bit exaggerated. 10 cm maybe here.
Temp is 0C.

Is there a weather station up on Mt. Rainier? Camp Muir's numbers would be interesting. Yea, I know there are closer mountains to you; but nothing high up that could have a station.

snowed in the morning, switched to cold rain, snow from 3-5, then back to drizzle. After the rainstorm & cold front left, temperatures dropped. All the slush and puddles on the roads and sidewalks will turn to ice if they haven't already. Cold front accompanied by a strong wind. I assume Mt. Washington will get a very strong wind chill. Next 2 days:

3 consecutive days with snow on the ground now. Will probably vanish before the end of the week with the rainy 3°C day forecast, but still right on queue for a typical first snow cover.

Nice snowfall last night. We have now ca 5-10 cm dry, fluffy snow on the ground, calm air, -2c. That's fine. Very Christmas-like. And we will keep the snow the coming days, mild weather to return tuesdag Certainly a lot more snow in the hills. We might experience a front-loaded winter this year.
