That's a very disturbing picture. The production rate at the Cold Front Factory is so high that they had to expand their facilities. Meanwhile, this Dickcember MTD is still 1.4C below avg, but if the forecast holds, we might creep over.

Had 7-8 seconds of rain this morning -I could smell the rain before I could hear it.
Jacarandas are in bloom at present -easy to spot them.

Est. 27.8C/20.0C in Observatory Hill for December if the forecast holds, would make it the third hottest on record for mean temps after 1990 and 2016. And 30.9C/18.6C in Bankstown, which I'm not sure how it ranks, but probably quite high.

Here are a couple of photos of Jacaranda trees on Christmas eve, at twilight -got roped into a christmas light tour. Thee are no public plantings of them around here, and they are little known as garden plants - Kowhai, Silk, and Pepper trees have similar form and are more common. The photos are under 200kb, so the quality is a bit poor.

A high of 30.2C here on Christmas day, and with 7mm of rain as well -mother nature was generous with her presents. Just took this photo a few minutes ago, of looking over the bay to Nelson -a moderate sea breeze and around 25C.

A thunderstorm heading this way -cool, but not cool, as this area could do without any hail, and there a few reports of hail already.
Did see some good cloud to sea lightning a few minutes ago, as I was enjoying my KFC down by the wharf.

Nice little storm cell there. Hell, there is more convection in that pic than I've seen all fucken spring and summer combined.

Nice little storm cell there. Hell, there is more convection in that pic than I've seen all fucken spring and summer combined. Bringing some much needed rain -there is a bit of soft hail in which feels like sleet, so hopefully not a problem. The cloud in the photo is quite typical for about the warmest 4-5 months -usually quite a quick buildup around mid day, but the convection stalls as the cloud eventually blocks the sun, slowing the convection off the narrow coastal strip.
