^^^ Looks like Wales cannot into Mediterranean clear water. Visited a mate in the outer suburbs today. Was warm real quick, already 24°C at 9 am. This was enticing. Cumulus mediocris Mooh! Here too we have beaches, though the water is even murkier than in Wales, if that's even possible. On a wooden bridge across the Marne river Looks like the countryside

This past week and last weekend, chronological order: Funny clouds: Swans swimming around, actually not sure why this one was so blurry, a few mins later on the next pic it wasn't: Some Canadian gooses too, they love this continental climate, not sure how they came originally though: Harbour laying still during the Belgium-Japan game: Less glamour behind it: Nice little alley though: Subtropique indice 100,000!!! Some sunlight weirdness: The ghost town continues to be built, and the sunlight still acting weird: Not the flattest part you can run over with a bike, hey? Rural forest close to 20 km north of town: Nice road through the meadow here: Pleasant location for a lake also, notice the cliffs in the distance! The landmark "Uppsa Kulle" was a bit of a letdown though, so just rode straight past it: Nice road past some rather small settlement: Still about 20 km away from home, but the same location as the previous picture rather than the earlier forest one, rolling hills! You wouldn't believe there's a drought going on: 22:20, amazing light: 22:30, still full daylight downtown:

It's not the Mediterranean or the tropics, but I'd hardly call it "murky". From the bridge we could clearly see fish and jellyfish swimming 2/3m down. Besides, I love that deep blue look on sunny days.

Today we stayed in a little house we have up on the mountains, just above my village at about 1000 m of altitude. That area used to have a lot of inhabitants during the summer months, but practically the all of them returned back to the bottom of the valley during the winter months. In practice during the agriculture season the population spread over the largest area possible, looking for other fields and grazing lands by moving at higher altitudes, while during the winter they preferred to remain in the low altitude area. After WWII the economy completely changed and there was no more reason to do so, but the houses over there remained. Many were abandoned and now are basically ruins reconquered by the woods, but some (like the house where we went) were preserved and are now used as summer houses. Some hold houses ruins, with trees growing within their original perimeter: The restructured houses instead look like this: Some paths in the woods: ^there are quite a lot of nettles, but there should be a quite large path over there Looking toward the bottom of the valley: ^ the trees were cut down along that direction because of the power line, there is also a hydroelectric plant at the bottom. Trees:

Some pics from two days ago when we had the first summer thunderstorm (and second of the year after the first in March): Lightning-producing clouds in the distance: Nice sky to the northeast: Dark skies to the west: North Shore mountains to the north: A path, looking west:

Fishing at Copeton Dam, NSW (S of Inverell); 663 m AMSL; 29° 55' S; I was inactive on this forum for four days since Thursday because of the non-existant internet, if you haven't noticed already. Fucken enjoyed it though! This was our cabin—although these pictures are only of the area itself, I have plenty more of the drive to and from here along the way—also, whatever I don't catch, was already recorded on my dash cam: Croatia vs Russia: Now for the fishing; 598 m AMSL; 29° 56' S; pictured below are a few silver perch, but unfortunately the Queenslander dickhead caught all the Murray Cod & Yellowbellies. Unfortunately, too, I did not take any pictures of our 1st fishing (drizzly, rainy & squally) or 3rd fishing (clear & squally) for the fear of my tablet falling overboard; as you can plainly see, it was rather calm when I took this one (2nd fishing) on Saturday: This bloody box is our sounder; water temperature 56.5° F; water depth 16.2 ft:

Went to my Grandma's by the sea. Can't get enough of deciduous forests. Her plums seem to be coming along just fine, along with her cherries. Her pear tree doesn't have any pears though. Plums. Btw, excuse me if these images look overly edited. They aren't. My smartphone seems to prefer them looking like that. Sea. As is very typical for Sweden is shallow water extending far out. Often you can go 100m out and still have water barely up to your chest. Found this one at the University. Does anyone know what it is? Same size as cherries or plums, but doesn't look quite like them. Could these be pear? A lot smaller than apples are currently though... Really shitty image, but most cherries turned various degrees of red during the drought. Some, like this one, turned completely red, but has some vibrant green leaves from more recent rains. We've had a dozen millimeters of rain the last few weeks, but we still didn't quite manage to revert the drought, and now with the warm sunny days it's starting to look a bit dry again. This is what grass looks like; mostly green to a dry pale green with yellow patches. This lawn was looking very dry. I like Swedish meadows. These are in an industry shopping area. Almost reminded me of the beautiful meadows surrounding Visby's old town. Found a wild oak that wasn't a sapling. About 3x2m. How common are adult oak trees in the wild around Trondheim, Nidaros? Found a pretty nice little neighborhood. I really like low but wide houses, and I like when they aren't normal wooden houses typical to Sweden. Umeå doesn't exactly have a dramatic landscape, but apart from the city center down by the river, I wouldn't exactly call it flat. Walked a lap through the forest track around the lake. About 10km or something like that. It was about 25'C, sunny and almost no wind whatsoever. Pretty sweaty. Not all of it was this dense, so you often got to walk in the sun even in the woods. Saw this bough and was like uh what? You couldn't see that it had broken from the side I came from. It isn't very clear on this image, but there were about 4-5 trees in a cluster with some or all of their leaves red-brown from drought. Looking from the southernmost part toward the northernmost part of the lake which its longest direction.

Went to Burnaby today. Grass is struggling: An old guy with long gray hair was sitting in the sun facing the south for maximum UV ray exposure. Lots of dead grass here too:
