Seen some comments saying that Gold Coast won that simply because they're more used to warmer conditions. Wonder if that has some merit.

Dogs had more use of the footy, more inside 50's, more shots on goal.... but bad kicking is bad footy. Was a reasonably coolish evening, little if any dew on the grass. The Suns were able to hang on and held off a last 1/4 surge by the Dogs.... |

Fair enough, I didn't watch the match so I didn't see how it played out.
Sounds similar to how Carlton have been losing, with McKay unable to hit the side of a barn door at the moment

Was a great game last night in Darwin..... balmy tropical evening was still 24.7c at 10.00pm when the game finished. Bigger crowd than the previous week against the Doggies, although the Suns-Doggies crowd was more vocal. When the Crows got out to a 6 goal lead in the 2nd quarter, it had the Crows supporters up and about... then the Suns kicked the next 9 in row, that shut the bastards up ( at least the ones near me anyways...lol ). The lead changed a couple of times early in the last quarter before the Suns kicked away.... was a good night out.... its only 5 mins from my place and having a high clearance 4wd means one can drive over the concrete kerbing and park in non designated places right near the General Admittance gate...excellent ! A first since I've been going to footy games in Darwin.... security were checking bags and camp chairs for contraband ( in Darwin that means grog ) AND they had blokes with scanner wands waving over patrons entering the ground.... I thought, 'oh ohh...' as I had the Leatherman on the hip as always ( blokes of my generation a pocket knife on the hip is the norm ). Anyways the wand went 'beep' and the bloke just waved me through...good onya champ !! The real issue was the $9 price for a can of cats piss Carlton Mid... $9 for a 3% beer....un Australian, or at the very least un Territorian !!  Suns V Crows   |

One curious thing.... last week at the Doggies-Suns game at least a third of the crowd were blackfellas, last night hardly any local countrymen.... |

Another beauty of a Collingwood game, this time against Port Adelaide. We are almost undefeatable in these close games, but Port definitely tried.

Game of the year so far. How the fuck do collingwood keep getting away with it. Pretty much the perfect game, good scores, great balance of contest+free flow of the game. Perfect to advertise to someone who's never watched it.

As it turns out the teams that finished 1 and 2 on the ladder are playing off....
Pains me to say it, but I'm tipping Collingwood as overall they've been the best performing side of the last 2 years...
But I'll be supporting Brissy in this one, as will every non Collingwood person in Australia ! lol

Not sure if he deserved this. I liked Gulden and Anderson getting close though, those random players getting close is always the best. Unfortunately Nick Daicos was injured for the last few games otherwise I reckon he would have gotten it.  |
