Fall colors in New York state. Everything was still green here last week, though today I noticed some different colors, still only the beginning though

Interesting severe weather map in the Great Plains and Midwest US today. Snow in the west where it's already cold, tornadoes and thunderstorms where it's warmer. The past week was very wet so there is lots of flooding around. I don't know why it says updated January 2017, it's October 2018.

20C in Montréal at 2am in almost mid-October. Don't see that too often but a big shift is coming over the next few hours: Denver has a chance of snow today and on Sunday, with a forecast high of 28F/-2C...

If today hits the forecast, our average high for the first 10 days of October will be just 27.8°C. The normal first 10 day high is 34.2°C, so this would be 6.4°C below average, and more importantly would make it the 4th coldest first 10 days of October on Record (for high temps); #3 is 1959 {27.7°C}; #2 is 1946 {27.1°C}; and the coldest first 10 day high was in 1912 at 25.4°C!!

Should also note that this will be the first October since 1970 with the average high for the first 10 days below 30°C!!

Highest October low 1872-2017: 68 (20 C) New record: 72 (22 C) on October 9, 2018
We absolutely obliterated that record for the 3rd (!) monthly record high low of 2018!
Days with 70+ October dews before 2017: 1 Days with 70+ October dews is 2018: 4
Yes, only 1 in our history and then we get 4 in the past week. The 71 f dew in 2013 went from being a clear record to a 3-way tie for first.
Who the fuck would expect an 86/72 (30/22 C) day with a 70 (21 C) dew point on October 9th? Well it happened.
Today was no slouch either, reaching 84 (29 C) with dews in the high 60s.
This is gonna be a perfect October temp wise with a record setting heatwave followed by a swift transition to cold, autumn weather mid month.
We’ve gone whole summers without a 72 f low but we just got one in October—and not even in the first week too!

October 2018 so far:
Mean Max: 72 F/22 C Mean: 64 F/18 C Mean Min: 56 F/13 C
Running over 10 F above average. One more warm day tomorrow (75 F/24 C) and then it looks like the pattern will flip to below average.

Haven’t heard this warning before; rare for hurricanes I think the first time I heard of this warning was when Harvey was making landfall last year. Interesting to see it that far inland.

Had a good bit of rainfall with t-storms last night as frontal system approached. I measured 1.81", the most I've had in a while.
Felt nice this evening compared to what it's been. Could get into the upper 50's tonight for the first time of fall (though 57F is the normal low for today's date).
Sunny and upper 70's forecast for tomorrow.

Big storms these days all over the western Mediterranean. 250 mm+ totals in Sardinia and killer flash flooding in the Balearic islands. I'm headed to Marseille and Nice today, totals up to 150 mm along the train line between the two and 60 mm+ in an hour near Cannes again next to the train line; hope there'll be no problems. Meanwhile, a potent forest fire near Paris...
