-8F at my house, as low as -18F in the Laurel Highlands of PA, MD, and WV This doesn't happen too often . I drove out to the Thomas/Davis, WV area this morning up to Oakland, MD. It was 11 AM/noon and temperatures were still in the 0 F to -5 F range! I took a video, sorry for the crappy quality and all the up and downs, I was trying to drive and film (stupid, I know, I had my eyes on the road though lol). Temp was -3 F (-19 C) when I took the video: I was trying to find a scenic view or a place to pull over and take pics but I couldn't find anything. I found some in Eastern WV but the ground there was bare (much to my disappointment) so I didn't figure it was worth stopping.

Buffalo has had 62.4โ (~160 cm)!
Yesterday was 11/-3 (-12/-19 C) with 13.6โ of snow...awesome winter day.
They had 2 days with >10โ and 5 days with >5โ, nice heavy falls.
6th snowiest month ever and 4th snowiest January for them.
Today got to 10 (-12 C) as a high. Was hoping for a single digit high, except for the wind chill, the temps were pretty underwhelming this cold snap...

Skipped work to ski They called for half an inch here and it's been snowing since 7 am, probably have an inch and a half to two inches lol. Same thing happened on Tuesday, they forecast less than an inch here and we ended up getting like 3-4". I'm not complaining either.

The first part of February is looking warm here, but the second half of February looking nice with colder temps being forecast across most of the continental U.S. But unfortunately for Alex, warm in S FL.

Polar vortex? So now we're calling any sort of below freezing air that? Jesus...

^ That's been the case since 2014, since that epic cold snap in January 2014 happened. People act like the "Polar Vortex" is something completely new and now call any little cold snap a "polar vortex"....

This weekend has been mild and drizzly, big change from last week. Even the lows are above freezing until Monday night. The snowpack is taking a hit but it's deep enough to survive. It's a dirty mess near the roads now, typical winter problems. The dirt and grime on the roads is plowed into the snowbanks, then the snow melts leaving dirty snow, and next week, dirty ice.
Last week everything was white and beautiful from the fresh snow and below-freezing weather. It's still like that away from the roads, just with slushy snow instead of powder.

At least it was actually snowing where I am unlike in that video with one flake here and there. Although, it has died down a bit already. Not much moisture to work with and it's coming from a subpar direction.
