Holy shit, will this be the first time in history that the Hudson Bay actually HELPS the Northeast? Either way, a warm Alaska, West Coast, and Greenland is typically recipe for disaster here

Well, this escalated quickly.
We had our first frost just three days ago, and today the high was only 3.5C! Tomorrow and on Tuesday the high will be 5C at the most, and lows below freezing.
This is what I meant with Finland being more prone to cold snaps than Sweden, and days like these brings down the averages.

The last two days were supposed to have near record temps with highs of 77 (25 C) and 79 (26 C) forecast but then stupid ass overcast crap came in and held the highs down to 74 (23 C) and 75 (24 C). Well above average, but nowhere near record setting.

"Winter is coming: 10cm snow, freezing wind likely in southern Finland The rest of the week will be colder than usual for this time of year, says Yle meteorologist Kerttu Kotakorpi. That means if it snows, the white stuff is likely to stay on the ground.
According to Yle meteorologist Kerttu Kotakorpi, an incoming system is likely to dump up to 10 centimetres of snow and sleet over western and southern Finland starting Wednesday night. The system will discharge the last remnants of precipitation during the day on Thursday.
Chilly winds expected this week mean that temperatures will be five degrees colder than the average for this time of year. On Wednesday, the forecast is for highs around zero degrees throughout the country, with overnight lows dropping below freezing."
My weather comes from Greenland. Boke.

Well it's looking increasingly like the first air frost of the season is coming on 30th October.
Amazingly, it would be the earliest air frost since 2012. Air frost is very rare here in October, with only three previous occurrences since 2009.

Today was overcast and much cooler. The high has only been 54 (12 C) so far.
The month is currently 9.1 F above average and the average high is 10.4 F above average! The final week is supposed to be average or slightly below average, but the month should remain top 10 warmest.

It got a bit cooler than expected last night - low was 37F (2.8C). I saw frost on roofs this morning for the first time this season, though none on grass.
Supposed to warm to 80F (26.7C) tomorrow, but another cold front coming Friday. Forecast low Saturday night is 33F (0.6C)!

A graph of first snow dates for the past 12 years. Mid-October looks to be the average so it was a bit late this year.

Not "wow" but tis a good sample on how to contort the reality! Hiromant has posted the dates where within the whole territory of the whole country snow has been recorded. I saw, that card was published in olnine media. The country is rather small but it is still a country, not a town. Some of these dates are only theoretical as in eg 25 Set 2013 there was only one snowfalke recorded in a station. He is biased, he only dreams how to show off everything like it should be somewhere alaska or other arctic wastelands. So donยดt be so exited, baba. You live on polar circle, it is not colder and sh...ter here than in your although he wants to prove it.

The average low so far this October is 9.3C (+3.2C), and the record warmest average October low from the Octobers I've checked is 9.0C in 2001. We've got a few chilly nights coming up though so I think we'll just miss out on the record
