Well nothing is going to change in the next couple of hours, so here's Bingley's weather for this past month: Average high: 15.5C (-0.4C) Average low: 9.2C (+0.3C) Average: 12.3C (-0.1C) Rainfall: 115.8 mm (+50%) Sunshine: ~ 100 hours (-14%) A rare September these days that doesn't really have any summery days in it, we had a few decent days in the second half of the month but after that really wet and cold first half there was no way that this was going to be much of a month worth remembering.

I believe we've only had two days with above average highs this month. Lots of days with rather mild nights however. No sunshine at all. Just look at the precipitation and fog... I think valleys had fog even on those two or three "dry days" this month. On infoclimat only one single day was without fog or rain. Average high: 13.3'C (-1.6) Average low: 6.4 (+1.3) Mean: 10.0'C (-0) We'll have to wait for SMHI's publications in a week for official stats and rainfall and sunshine...

Yep there were lots of calm, sunny days. The constant high pressure and sunshine is the reason why it was cold, although Renmark Airport itself is a bit of a frost hollow. It is located in a open, flat treeless plain about 10km from the town and radiates heat like a bitch at night. The town itself is on the river and with its network of wetlands, creeks, vegetation, irrigation and the town's own built up area, it's considerably warmer at night in town. Also on still summer nights it can get surprisingly humid on the river.
There used to be a BOM station in town, and its avg winter lows were around 1.5C warmer than the current airport site.

Nice. It's funny how you guys couldn't even make it to 20C for over 4 months, then outta nowhere it's suddenly 30C lol. one thing I really don't like about Melbourne though is the ridiculously stupid amount of rainy days you guys get for the actually amount of precipitation- 13 days for 29mm!!

I hate the drizzly shit here, it's the worst part about the climate by far. I didn't even count the days where it rained 0.2mm (due to numerous faulty recording of 0.2mm in the past). It would've been 19 days if I'd included those!!

Auckland has a relatively high number of rain days, however at least we get ALOT of rain to make up for it and make the ruined days somewhat worthwile In March, my nearest EWS recorded 354mm in 12 days, that was fun!

I think the BOM should use 0.4mm as the standard. I'm sure many of the 0.2mm readings are dew, however we only tend to get dew in winter, so summer 0.2mm readings are more likely legit than the winter ones. I used 0.2mm in my wiki box as it's official, but I think 0.4mm might be a better threshold. But then do we subtract the 0.2mm readings from the total? Then it won't be official, and we might miss legits 0.2mm readings. Shit what to do AAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH

Indeed, apparently UmeΓ₯, as well as Karlstad had the least sunny September ever recorded, with records going back to 1961 and 1955 respectively. We don't have the actual stats yet though.

www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/201709/html/IDCJDW6111.201709.shtmlDecent month, above average temps, average rain and just below average sunshine. The first 20 days started out decent then a series of complex cold fronts passed through for a week resulting in temps mainly around 15C, very wintry before a late return to normality.

Not much to report with regards to official stats yet, but I'd reckon 15/9 or something like that as averages.

I've even gotten 0.2mm at the airport when it's been sunny and clear and in the middle of the day so no dew. After many of these observations I've just decided to use 0.4mm. As for including them in the total, I still put them there. No big deal at the end of the day, the precipitation amounts get adjusted later on in the next month anyway.

Those countries would have misleading rainfall stats, as anything below 1mm would be eliminated. I think what I'm going to do is use 0.4mm from the BOM data for the rain days, and just the official total for the total. In my July, it took 12 days to record 8mm of rain, 3 of those days were 0.2mm, I suspect those were just dew. June and July were exceptionally dewy. My PWS starts recording at 0.3mm so it might make it more comparable if I use 0.4mm for the official cutoff.

A very mediocre month. Contrasts sharply from last year.

What recording period do you use on there Razza? I use 2300-2300, because if it's 0000-0000 or anything that stretches into the next day, e.g. the weather that happened on the 1st will be credited to the 2nd, etc.
