Looking at this from a purely objective, 3rd party perspective, your logic is flawed. You base your argument on the assumption that: 1) Aussies only want to talk about Aussie-related things 2) Aussies would be active in the shoutbox at all 3) Aussies would be active when you are active 4) Aussies would flood the shoutbox due to sheer numbers 5) The majority of the Aussies would even be regularly active 6) Aussies hate Finns 7) Aussies like the Aussie forum The above is pure conjecture on your part, and just looks like whining. If you don't like Aussies you can get out, strewth! 1) I assume there would be a lot more Aussie Rules talk and other shit like Daniel Andrews 2) Why wouldn't they? Most existing members are 3) Obviously not, as they are half the world away 4) Can be considered a possibility, maybe even likely 5) Dunno. Somebody invited them and they bothered to registered. But if even a third would've been active, they would've been by far the largest demographic 6) Didn't imply that 7) Don't care
I have no reason the whine. It was me who got them out, even if it required to delete 10k posts or something. And I'd do it again, strewth!

Keep it public for the time being and we'll see how it goes. It's not hurting anything, right?
The page is the first result on Google (at least on my device). This is a great thing. Let's give it another year and we might get new members.

Referring to the shoutbox, again, I will tell you why the Australian invasion would've been detrimental for our forum. The possible active posters could've outnumbered us others 3 to 1, and soon all other discussion would've been buried under the Aussie weather, Aussie sports, Aussie politics etc nobody else gives a flying fuck about. Ultimately, why bother posting when your F4 tornado is being ignored because Wagga Wagga, Wollongong, Bogan Creek and other bogan places recorded a high 1C above average. You, knot , would've probably enjoyed it, but nobody else wouldn't. Think this way; what if I would invite 100-150 Finnish posters? Think KC streetviews are boring? How about in-depth discussion what Boganvaara recorded yesterday, Sanna's adventures or a traffic jam on the Helsinki-Turku motorway? And what are you whining about anyway? You have your new Australian weather forum, so you're free to fuck off. STREWTH! Looking at this from a purely objective, 3rd party perspective, your logic is flawed. Which is what the forum would be full of with 150 Aussies.

I'm not really up to speed on this, since I wasn't here, but if it was such a good idea, why was it not put to a vote? Or at least why were so few people consulted? I recall at times we had days of voting and heated debate over a single member, let alone 150 at once.
From what I've heard, it sounds like it was essentially an attempted coup to turn this place into an Aussie weather board.

Seems like AA just wanted to populate the place with bogans and country bumpkins from what I've heard.

It was a snap decision by Jgtheone influenced by AW, as weatherzone was about to close (?). JG Jong-il admitted it was a mistake on his part, and definitely should've asked for a vote. We accepted his apology and it was settled.
One of the most prolific new members was a guy named Knot, and he was like AW, but on mefffff. He was completely unhinged.

You're not in the same timezone as them, so your complaints about the Aussies "taking over the forum/shoutbox" (laughing my arse off!) are not really warranted, to say the very least. You might choose to stay up later at night when dem evil Aussies are on, but that's your doing. You know just how bad gaytime is on this forum…now imagine that gaytime disappearing due to even a modest increase in active members from the Eastern Hemisphere timezones—unfortunately, the anti-Australian wanker is too vocal here (Ariete). Also, the most active ones (Wavey, Knot, Ashestoashes) actually engaged in non-Australian climate topics, so no, they do not "only talk about Australian things". They were ultimately driven-off due to Ariete's unrelenting attacks against Australian and Southern Hemisphere people in general; he proudly despises the Southern Hemisphere, for whatever reason(s).

Nothing against Aussies, they're our cousins across the sea, just don't see why you didn't put it to a vote at the time rather than trying to strong-arm the changes through.

I agree wholeheartedly with that—I should've made a poll.

You attempted a hostile takeover of this forum.
Oh the meanie Ariete is so mean and drove away all the Australian posters. Gimme a break, snowflake.
You have your Weatherzone Mk II, why bother about "gaytime" here, as you can just post there?

And for the record, I didn't personally attack a single Aussie but discussed this in the shoutbox only.

This is spot on. The vast majority did not like how we made fun of stupid comments from other forums and the screenshoting of them. Ahem.

Actually, there were just two members who stated hatred towards that thread—you can see for yourself. And the members whom I slagged-off were, themsleves, already hated by everyone on Weatherzone; those targetted members had a nasty reputation (for instance, constant AGW baiting). Also, Steve spoke out against screenshotting other forums in general, not just WZ. Other members, notably Kino, actually liked that thread. Was defo Ariete with his demented "you're not welcome!" message on the Weatherzone closure announcement thread, not only to Australians, but to anyone in the Southern Hemisphere.

I didn't say that.
Or did I? I don't recall.
Anyway, if I did, I was being a hero.

It wasn't just two members, many of them didn't like that thread & it it lead to the majority buggering off as quick as they arrived. It doesn't matter if they were hated on Weatherzone, that's hardly the point, that thread, those posts created ill feeling towards many of the new Australian members & they quickly decided this forum wasn't for them because of it.

Was actually the Demod Ariete Poll (not the Weatherzone thread), but still… You know what's even more sad? That six other members liked his demented anti-Southern Hemisphere post!

That I remember and I still stand by it. You remembered incorrectly, but that happens. (Happens a lot with you actually, but luckily you're a man enough to admit it if you're proven wrong.)
Well I do give a fuck about Southern Hem weather if Melbourne are seeing massive negative anomalies and Renmark records more freezes than London, but don't care about individual observations which would've dominated this forum if all the Aussies would've been posting.
I mean, even the place names in NSW sound bogan: Shannon's Flat, Buckenderra, Cooma, Yarrangobilly, Moonbah etc.

Btw, I would also make the Future WWF members voting board private and delete the Vote on future WWF members! subboard as it's redundant.
