Are you not in the normal area? There is a big positive anomaly over NW Canada.

Are you not in the normal area? There is a big positive anomaly over NW Canada. I'm in the white/blue area. This maps shows a ridge extending north to southern Alaska and Yukon/NW BC, which means cooler air to the east and south of that ridge which is where I am.

North'Wester incoming, with a fairly cold airmass as well: The real deal (i.e. coldest air) isn't forecast to arrive until Friday in NSW, although fairly cold air already seems to be gripping South-Western VIC and Southern SA; with Mt William @ 1,150 on 3.9Β° C and Mt Gambier, SA @ sea level on 8.6Β° C with showers.

Some impressive 4-day rainfall totals in pockets of the state Perhaps this could be beneficial for Lexington getting heat in the coming weeks?

Got smoked with a Florida thunderstorm this afternoon, lots of cloud to ground lightning and almost an inch and half of rain.
Hasnβt rained like that in months, itβs been bone dry since the end of April.

2020 brings Finland's hottest June in 60 years Some parts of Finland experienced 21 days of temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius, meteorologists said.
Roughly half of Finlandβs long-term weather observation sites reported record high temperatures in June, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute, FMI. The agency said on Wednesday that the month registered the highest number of days when temperatures reached 25 degrees Celsius (the so-called heat threshold in Finland) since the country began keeping digital records in 1961.
FMI said that some parts of Finland experienced a total of 21 25-degree-or warmer days and noted that June 1999 was the last time as many hot days had been measured.
Residents of western Finland in particular benefited from the balmy June weather. In the southwestern city of Turku, the Artukainen weather station registered 17 occasions when the mercury rose to or above 25 degrees.
"The deviation from the norm was as much as four or five degrees," FMI meteorologist Pauli Jokinen said in a statement.
Meanwhile the monthβs highest temperature came in at 33.5 degrees Celsius on 25 June in KankaanpÀÀβs Niinisalo in western Finland. That dayβs high was just three-tenths of a degree shy of the all-time record measured in 1935 in ΓhtΓ€ri, southern Ostrobothnia.

High today was 93 (34 c), the 3rd 90 f of the year.
This year has skipped right over the low 90sβthere have been 11 days with 85-89 f highs and then 3 days with 93-94 f highs.
Dews were in the upper 50s so it was dry and pleasant.
It looks hot for the foreseeable future with NWS having 4 straight 90s to end the forecast. Shaping up to be a very good summer!

Currently 2.8Β° C here, with a South-Westerly rainband moving up Central VIC. BoM for N VIC/SW NSW has dropped the snow levels down to 800 m (from 900 m), so odds are looking better today.

Another hot day todayβhigh was 88 (31 c).
The record for consecutive days >30 c is 12, >90 f is 9, and >95 is 5. This next week will come close to setting the first one and should be high ranking for the other two lists.
Unfortunately, NWS is on crack and has 4 days of mid-high 90s to end the forecast including a 98 f on Tuesday. TWC is much more conservative and realistic with low 90s. But now this heatwave will feel like a letdown no matter how great it is because of the NWS forecast.

Wow no posts in here today.
High was only 85 (29.4 c) today which makes it less likely we will set the consecutive 30c days streak.
Today was quite dry with dews dropping as low as 45 (7 c) this evening.
NWS has unsurprisingly backed off the extreme heat but still has forecast highs of 91, 91, 96, 94, 94, 95 for the next 6 days which would be the hottest week since 2018.

10 day forecast looks slightly above average, generally in the upper 80βs to low 90βs (31-32C) with thunderstorm chances on 8 out of 10 days.
No big heat just yet, but at least we might catch up on rain, so far this July has been wetter than entire months of May and June.

This is looking like it's gonna be another mild summer, just like last year. Mostly highs in the low 20s with an occasional day going up into the high 20s then back to mild conditions again through the entire forecast. Feels more like a typical summer in Edmonton or Calgary (albeit with higher humidity than what they normally get).

High was 90 (32 c) today, the 4th of the year. It was another dry day with dews dropping into the high 40s f in the evening.
NWS has dialed back the heat even more but theyβll still be at least 4 guaranteed 90s by the end of the week.
