Yesterday was another wet day with a very low diurnal range - high of 20.5C and low of 15.0C. So weird to have such a small range at those temperatures, not something we see very often but this is at least the second time it's happened in the past month or so.

Airport reached 98F today which makes this the second hottest day in history. Wow!

ChicagoGeorge keeps talking about how hot and dry the next few weeks will be, but the GFS is looking pretty wet for a lot of the Midwest. And the heat looks somewhat above normal, but not too impressive, given how much the GFS tends to overestimate things. My forecast looks above average but not dry. It's raining a lot today, more possible tomorrow and then again later next week. I don't see hot and dry coming either.

We've just had two weeks of the absolute worst midsummer weather I have EVER seen, we probably haven't even broken 30 sun hours this whole time I knew we'd have to pay for that record sunny April and May at some point but I wasn't expecting this bad, my brain thinks it's October already. Christ, at this point we've almost had a warmer July than you so far. Wow.

The past few hours in La Crosse on the other side of the state. A high of 95, overnight low of 78 (35/26) with dews in the low 70s/20s, then much cooler today due to storms.
The southwest part of the state gets the most exciting storms and heat in summer. Winter is more variable there also, but not as snowy or exciting as the northern parts. Last July was 87/67 (31/19) with a day similar to today but hotter and wetter. Looking for hourly obs Found it, and it's not worth showing the ones from this year anymore. It was much hotter, much wetter, more humid, better in every way. Starting the night of July 18th, 2019. Thunderstorms from 9pm to 5am drop 3.36" / 85mm of rain. The overnight low is a warm 73F/23C. The next day is very hot, reaching 97F/36C. That's very hot for Wisconsin, but on top of that, the dew point is a ridiculous 80F/27C giving a heat index of 118F/48C. It stays hot overnight, with a lowest hourly temp of 84 and dew of 77 (29/25C). Thunderstorms show up in the morning around 9 am, bringing some rain and a 52mph /84 kph wind gust and much cooler temps in the low 70s / low 20s. The next few days are back to average (84/63 29/17). The 80F dew: Full observations in spoiler, since it's long. The start is nothing special, but the middle is really hot for the upper midwest. Weather key: RA = rain. +RA = heavy rain -RA = light rain TS = thundestorm VCTS = thunderstorm in vicinity BR = mist

After a wet stretch with some cooler than normal highs, turning quite hot with temps in the upper 90's forecast the next few days. Rain/t-storm chances look pretty low for a while... Heat advisory in effect. Maybe we will reach 100F over the next couple of days. It hit 100F once last year in September. Tomorrow's forecast highs.

We were forecast to have a high of 98F/37C today, but the warmest it's gotten so far is 84F/29C because we got a big thunderstorm that dropped the temperature to 68F/20C at noon. That's just about the coolest weather you can get at noon in July here.

Today didnโt quite get to the forecast, but still reached 93 (34 c).
This was the 6th straight 90 f day, which is in a 6-way tie for the 5th longest such streak.
7/10 days this month have hit 90, the 2nd most ever for the first 10 days of July after 1911.
The average high so far is 90.3 f, which is the 3rd hottest for July 1-10.

The record-setting heat in eastern Canada is coming to an end, but has left an impressive mark...
Montreal just hit 36.1C yesterday, the first time they've ever hit 36C twice in one year (last time being in May), and it ties their all-time July record high and is the 4th hottest day ever recorded in the city. That 36.1C was also accompanied by a low of 24C. The mean temperature for July so far is 25.0C.
Now things are cooling back down to more normal levels, with highs between 26C and 28C all week and lows mostly below 20C, which I'm sure is going to feel quite relieving.

Miami's hottest week ever! Especially impressive considering the record heat has been driven by max temps as opposed to min temps. Keep in Mind that, even at the airport, most years don't even see 95F, let alone over a week of it. Here on KB most days have had highs between 90F and 92F which is extremely unusual for here. Within this stretch of unprecedented heat we had the hottest single day ever by mean temp (98/81) and the second hottest temperature ever

It would be equivalent to seeing a full week of 100ยฐF highs in July here, lol (the closest thing to that was the 2003 heat wave). What was the second hottest 10-day average for Miami? I'm sure that alex992 is loving the combo of those hot temperatures + thunderstorms.

Today's heat index peaked at 115F/46C in Norman, when the temperature was 99F/37C and the dewpoint was 77F/25C. I was outside for a bit when the heat index was 113F/45C, and it definitely felt very hot and humid. But there was a breeze, which made it feel better than it could have.

Today (the 11th) has an amazing 3.18โ (81 mm) of rain!
This is the 10th wettest day ever and the wettest since July 2006.
It started hot, reaching a high of 85 (29 c) before a shower came through a little after 1 PM. This one missed the airport and it warmed back up before the real deluge started.
Around 3 PM, a thunderstorm came in with a massive downpour with rainfall rates of almost 5โ/hour at times. During this storm, the dew reached 73 (23 c), the warmest this year.
After that, it proceeded to rain for the next 7 hours, alternating between drizzle, light rain and the occasional downpour.

Wonder which station that is. NWS Burlington said that Massena reached 99F, beat the old daily record by 7F!

Thanks, that looks awesome Wonder which station that is. NWS Burlington said that Massena reached 99F, beat the old daily record by 7F! North Tonawanda, NY near Buffalo hit 100 on the 9th. I think Massena is more impressive though since itโs way up north and has cooler averages.
