really fast dew drop this afternoon; went from 67 to 58 in an hour. some spots that had rain stayed humid; big difference in a small distance seems like the dew point recovered

This is a seriously extreme snowfall prediction… GFS suggesting snow levels to 300 m AMSL! Windy going for up to 44 cm here, LMAO!

Ugh. After yesterday, Umeå had only recorded 207h of sunshine this July. It will likely be the cloudiest July since 2009. The temp is at 18.6/9.2 with a 14.1'C 24h mean. Coldest since 1995 when it was 18.9/8.7.

High was 83 (28 c) today. There was a shower this morning and very dark storm cloud moved in in the afternoon but there were only a few rumbles of thunder and a brief sprinkle here.
It’s already down to 66 (19 c) as of 9 PM, could be headed for the coolest low of the month.

A strong thunderstorm went across the area to my northwest this evening. The airport picked up over an inch, but I got less than a tenth of an inch.
The airport has been lucky with storms this month, now up to 7.93" for July. I've had 4.90" in my gauge this month.

What?! That would surely smash the all time heat record.

Yeah, tomorrow might just be a teaser finally! Nonetheless a Parisian heat lover's wet dream if current forecasts are right. Potential for temps in the 40s followed by localized storms: Or we'll be stuck around 37°C due to distant anvils while not getting anything in terms of storm activity...

I think yesterday will likely end up being our warmest day of the year - high of 32.8C, low of 17.3C. Above average warmth continues this week, but nothing quite like that in the forecast.

Mehran in Iran had a hotter maximum than Death Valley for this year: The Death Valley record of 134F/57C was set over 100 years ago, and the second place record is 55C in Kebili, Tunisia in 1931 [ source]. Both records are suspicious [link1] [ link2] The hottest in recent years is 54C in Death Valley, USA; Mitribah, Kuwait; and Turbat, Pakistan. And maybe Basra/Basrah, Iraq since the wiki box says 53.8C. Mehran is in a similar location as Baghdad and Basrah. Baghdad just set a record high and Basrah apparently reached 53.8C in 2016.

^"According to some sources, 54.0°C is the highest temperature which is reliably measured on Earth." So the Stevenson Screen didn't exist in 1913 when Death Valley's 56.7° C was registered? If not, then what exactly is """reliably measured""" supposed to mean?? Twatter bloggers really have nothing better to do than lie about historical facts, eh. I pity them.

Now EC's on board with low-level snowfalls across VIC, NSW, and SA: Special mention to the 20+ cm in the Adelaide Hills (SA) and sea-level snowfall on coastal Western VIC.

If not, then what exactly is """reliably measured""" supposed to mean?? Twatter bloggers really have nothing better to do than lie about historical facts, eh. I pity them. "The record has been scrutinized perhaps more than any other in the United States. I don't have much more to add to the debate aside from my belief it is most likely not a valid reading when one looks at all the evidence. Normally when Death Valley records its hottest temperatures they occur during region-wide heat waves. On July 10, 1913 the next highest temperatures recorded in southern California (aside from Greenland Ranch) were just 119° at Heber and 118° at Mammoth Tank."
In Burt's eyes, one red flag about the record is that Death Valley has never even come close to matching 134 degrees since 1913. It hasn't even breached 130 degrees. "It's way, way anomalous," he said.
Death Valley was alone in reporting such fiery temperatures on that day. Nearby places like Las Vegas and Blythe were hot, but not that hot.
On top of these anomolies, the wind conditions observed that day would suggest temperatures were actually much cooler. Greenland Ranch's weather observer, Oscar Denton, may have been a meticulous record keeper, but he wasn't a trained meteorologist. He was an employee of the Pacific Coast Borax mining company. Burt ultimately suspects something may have been wrong with the thermometer.
After examining the temperature record in detail, Court noted that this temperature may be the result of a sandstorm that occurred at the time. Such a storm may have caused superheated surface materials to hit upon the temperature in the shelter.
