It's going up to 29C today in Saskatoon and then forecasts show the temperatures dropping into the upper teens/low 20s after this as September rolls around.
This is quite probably our last hot day of the year.

A hot, mostly sunny week with little rain. We came within 0.2 C of the month's record high on the 26th.

Today was cool and cloudy, briefly reaching 76 (24 c) in the mid afternoon.
There was a weak thunderstorm in the evening that brought 0.08โ (2 mm) and dropped the temp down to the low 60s.
Tomorrow will be hot again before a cold front comes through at night.

85% average humidity so far this month. Completely disgusting, everyday has felt like being in a bowl of hot soup

After recording 3 date records for heat earlier this month, London yesterday recorded the 4th date record of August 2020, with a high of 16.3c.

CDG Airport: 19.9ยฐC (First sub-20ยฐC high since the 12th of June, 78 days) With a 19.9ยฐC reading, what a shame (that's Orly's reading). The streak could have continued. This month's unfair (because 100% convective) precipitation distribution is only getting worse today, with rain hitting the same areas. Month up to yesterday. Parts have had 250% of their usual rainfall, with Wy-Dit-Joli-Village in the NW outskirts leading the dance with its 125 mm, while others are continuing to get fuck all and are bypassed by ever single, storm or shower. Spots only got 30 mm since mid-June. The grass is parched at my home in the red zone and greenish at my parents' home in the white zone. Today's precip so far derived from radar Soils are almost as dry as ever in parts. The lowest line is the 1958-2020 record, the dashed line above this year is the 20th percentile.

Great map to indicate the whole รle-de-France region. My area received only 60~70% of the normal monthly precipitation and 3~4mm for today.

Jealous of you Paris guys. Wish we could have an extended dry spell here ( Likewise I wish I could have an extended set spell here. I'm genuinely concerned about the damage to the vegetation. About 50% of the spruces have died recently due to the 3 back-to-back dry summers. Ok, they're not native, so why not let them die and replace them by more appropriate trees (wish the same could be same about trachys)? But I fear birches and beeches could follow the same path if this is the new norm. Then the nature around here will never look the same anymore. That's a pretty grim outlook if you ask me.

Very chilly and fall like today. The high was 69 (21 c) although since itโs a coop station with a fucking 7 PM-7PM โdayโ it got recorded as 82 (28 c).
It started off sunny and crisp after a low of 48 (9 c), then turned cloudy with occasional sprinkles. The drop from yesterdayโs 91 f high to todayโs 69 f high is pretty big for summer.
August sets a variety of records, the average high was the warmest ever, the mean 3rd warmest, the 6 days >95 was the most ever and the 20 days >90 was tied for the most ever.

Stone pines are awesome but holm oaks are plain shite. 1/2

Currently a category 4 typhoon a few hundred miles south of Korea that is supposed to make landfall near Busan. Could be one of the strongest landfalls in years
