First "tropical night" of crummer, which is on the verge to be updated to summer. A 22C low in Rantasalmi Central Finland.
Surely that must be close to a June record?

Apparently yesterday's 32.6c was a date record, beating the old record of 32.4c.
Today's date record is 33.5c, which is looking unlikely at the moment.

Probably.
Chadby didn't hold onto the nationwide record for today (and this summer), but Kankaanpää had it beat with a high of 33.5C, just 0.3C short from the all-time June record.
Well, we get another try tomorrow.
All larger urban areas except Turku and Oulu have hit 30C this year, it seems. A subpolar oceanic high of 28.5C here.

New daily record at Paris-Montsouris with 35.2°C (95°F), beating the old record from... 2019! That must be a rare occasion! The western outskirsts are getting all the fun for now:

Yesterday → Today's Daily Maximum Temperature Montsouris: 33.4°C → 35.2°C (1.8°C warmer) CDG: 32.5°C → 33.7°C (1.2°C warmer) Orly: 32.0°C → 34.4°C (2.4°C warmer) Montsouris station achieved a gold medal today for the hottest temperature in the nation. Interesting to see it is the first day above 35°C since the legendary event we had an all-time record high of 42.6°C on 25 July 2019.

New daily record at Paris-Montsouris with 35.2°C (95°F), beating the old record from... 2019! Woah you were a bit faster than me Lucky enough this couple days having fairly neutral humidity, remember walking just a few minutes under intense heat combined twentee-something dew point was horrible! What do you mean by beating the old record? Last June already had 36.5°C on the 29th.

But as you said it was much muggier last year. 2nd round of storms this way headed towards me. Most should pass to te east tho:

The cells died miserably. Fucking lame. At least dews shot up a bit, nearing the 20°C mark.

Damn, even Scandinavia has potential for warmer nights than Saskatoon. It's extremely rare for us to have a low above maybe 17C or 18C, and even that usually only happens once or twice in a summer.

Second "tropical night" this morning. A band of stratiform rain related to faraway storms in Burgundy is approaching.

Latest Euro model run is forecasting ~22°C 850 hPa temperatures here and subfreezing 850 hPa temperatures in Scandinavia; perfect setup:

Shouldn't be that surprising as we have warmer average lows than Saskatoon, and shorter nights.

After yesterday, we had 350h of sunshine in Umeå. 5 days left to make 400h. We don't have a very sunny forecast though, so there's a chance we won't make it to 400h unfortunately.

Apparently Umeå managed to dodge pretty much all the rain and lightning, which is great because the drought gets to continue (I want the grass to turn yellow), and we still got all the thunder. My friend stayed the night in Sävar 10km north of Umeå though, so he got literally all of the lightning passing straight over him

Karlskrona was the first station to reach a 20'C dew point that I know of, with a 20.1'C DP yesterday at 11am, at 24.4'C
And Väderöarna broke this year's warmest low with 21.3'C following a high of 26.3'C

Record highs for the 10 largest cities in Finland so far:
Helsinki: 29.8C
Espoo: 30.8C
Tampere: 31.9C
Vantaa: 30.9C
Oulu: 29.4C
Turku: 30.3C
Jyväskylä: 31.8C
Lahti: 31.3C
Kuopio: 31.1C
Pori: 30.5C
Turku is the only one whose record was record today. If we would've fail whaled like Helsinki, I'd be royally pissed. Phew!
