25th was actually kinda sunny. Near peak foliage. good amount of reds up there yeah i'm kinda surprised to see, but then not surprised because there would be nerdy Swedish guys that want to introduce "exotic" southern species there. Still, it looks nice there.

Still, it looks nice there. All the reds in the last album were from maples. Maple isn't an exotic southern species as they do grow natively here.

Went down to the Lake Charles area yesterday and saw damage from Hurricane Laura. Looked like a wasteland by the coast due to the storm surge. Vegetation brown due to saltwater. Couldn't make it to the beach because the road was blocked.

From Friday. Foliage seemed to be more subdued and less approaching any kind of peak than in the suburbs. IDK why, because the past weeks were well above average. Can't be solely UHI.
Can't get the spoilers to work.

What is this? Yes it's the sky! Few pics from the past few days... Grass is still brown below trees despite the 100 mm we received lately. Now slowly greening everywhere.

Saw some flooding this afternoon resulting from Hurricane Delta. I got over 13 inches of rain in my gauge over a 2 day period (had one round of heavy rain Thurs night before the main event & Delta hit Fri night). Water rising in low lying areas. Water going over some roads.

Peak foliage in Western PA Park in Allegheny County I went for a Columbus Day hike on. Waited for near sunset to bring out the golden glow of the Golden Forest In my new backyard, possibly the reddest tree I've ever seen

Yeah, the older inner-city neighbourhoods have a really nice, well developed tree canopy which I really appreciate. Even some of the older suburban areas have decent trees, though not to the same extent as the inner-city. Newer neighbourhoods are ugly and largely devoid of major vegetation, unfortunately. Surrounding rural areas are mostly grasslands with random small patches of woods here and there.
