@logan5 I think these clouds are from a cold front – I imagine that clouds this "dark" aren't very common in California, other than in thunderstorms. The high today was 62 so it was probably not frontal. There was convectivity in the San Bernardino/Beaumont areas which caused thundersnow in both the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountain foothills. I didn't even see lightning so we were not in a convective area.

Seems to be a bit of a virga coming down. As I said, we basically only get cirrus/cumulus but we can get cumulonimbus during summer storms and almost always nimbostratus during winter storms.

Nice and sunny day. Worked 06.45-11.45 and then had a 5h break until working 17-22. I spent the time walking to my grandparents' where I ate some father's day fika. Really beautiful outside. Rest of the photos: Despite being almost exactly local noon, and despite being on the top of a ~10m high river cliff, the November sun didn't manage to rise above the tree tops on the other side of the river. No wild teee-sized trees have leaves left now. Only a few young shrubsized species have leaves now, like this unknown species of tree. I think it might be some kind of honeysuckle. Not one of the normal native trees, though very similar looking to bird cherry. A lot of downed trees, and along the riverside walk there were also many heaps of cut-down trees, presumably because they'd broken during the storm. One of many casualties: Are these a thing in the area where you live? Have you ever seen these marshmallow looking hay bales? Because in Sweden they're everywhere. I've almost never seen the grass in Umeå as green as it is right now, despite it being November. The lawn around these houses was ridiculously green. The record wet October and the November record 24h precipitation this Tuesday really did their number on the grass. Did I mention it was a really beautiful day? Very nice relief from the typical November darkness.

Saskatoon blizzard aftermath! It was -21C when these pictures were taken but there was essentially no wind in the inner city and I'd just finished a vigorous shovelling session so I was feeling quite warm the whole time.

Wow, such nice calm waters there! Nidaros Here's some pics from today: -2.5°C here at Cypress. Took a much needed piss near here (heavens no, not on the moss!). And just as I was leaving, the onset of the big batch of precipitation arrived. Fucken!

We got some thick wet snow today, and a full blown winter storm is moving in overnight. We're expecting 2 to 4 cm of snow overnight, 10 to 15 cm tomorrow during the day, and 5 to 10 cm tomorrow night. This could very well end up being the biggest storm of the season despite the fact that it's only early November. The houses on the left look very German in this picture, something I have not seen yet in North America.

^ Similar story here; it felt weird to have November-like scene(s) with sweetgum leaves falling combined with temperatures in the high 70's & slate gray overcast skies in the afternoon (unfortunately I forgot to take photos though, I kinda wanted a break from posting photos in here anyway for the time being). Nice photos BTW!

Some pics from 10th of November... Nice view on the way down, at least here. Farther down had extremely dense cloud. Couldn't see more than a few feet ahead at times.

Well, I didn't want to taint the moss, so I just went off into the snowy dirt behind the tree. Barely recognized the area a day later though.

Mount Baker (3,286 m) in Washington State lies 120 km almost due east. As seen from another neighbourhood viewpoint, it was looking beautiful in the evening sun. The waters of Cordova Bay and the Haro Strait lie in the foreground; the first land beyond is San Juan Island, USA. impressively sharp photo of Mt. Baker from that far away. Did you use a good telephoto lens?
