Pics of the weather today (Nov 15, 2020).... the High was 40.4C, with three (3) rounds of thunder throughout the day, thick dust, large rain drops, and some evening flashes to the NE. Lightning tracker showed activity right over head twice this afternoon, (see here: cdweather.boards.net/post/144096/thread ) but the thick dust made the clouds and lightning invisible. The thunder was only rumbles, this stuff must've been at around 15,000-20,000ft. At around 18.30 there was an insane gust of wind, it flipped a boat, took out furniture and pot plants, shredded the dead leaves off a local Mexican Fan palm tree, and sent debris, sand and dust screaming past at high velocities. I actually put on safety glasses so I could drink beer outside. Unfortunately, my PWS is poorly located for wind, surrounded by trees, so could not record the true wind speeds. And it was apparently a local event as the BOM station at the airport did not register any real spike in wind. The airport did register a temp rise from 38.6C to 39.7C during the event though. I suspect, if properly measured, the wind exceeded 100km/h. There were high-based showers and T-storms in the area, it might've been a localised downdraft, microburst, or something like that. The wind was very hot aswell. Warning, some very disturbing pics of Mosquito attacks. 40C rain

Beercules Ouch. I've never seen that many mosquitoes before, even when I came here to clean up after Hurricane Florence. You're getting A++++ weather though right now and this week, I'm jealous!

The mosquitoes were absolutely insane this evening, and as the warm season gets underway, it is only going to get worse...

Trees changing color/losing leaves here. Still a number of tarps due to hurricanes.

Just took one picture from yesterday at Mount Seymour. Weather was -1C with heavy snow transitioning to heavy sleet (the bouncy shit that isnt graupel or hail). Still have my summer tires on and they did fine.

bike ride Tuesday; looks a bit hazy/smoggy. was in the mid 70s; unusual winter warmth can cause an inversion, trapping pollution and a walk

Went for a run on the beach this morning and took some photos when I was done. Nothing special but I haven't posted in this thread in a while so I thought I'd find something to contribute. Fairly pleasant out this morning: 73F and partly cloudy with on and off drizzle, dew of 65F. Winds were whipping out of the northeast at 20-30mph Mi perro Looking south towards the condos From the same spot looking north towards Crandon park Ocean looks a little choppy This guy is happy about the wind Off he goes

Winds were whipping out of the northeast at 20-30mph haven't seen a beach in a year, except in my Maine trip. Miss the beach a bit; looks like there's a bit of surf but not real waves. Looks weird to me how developed the beach is, even the Rockaways in NYC look less built up right next to the beach.

Some more snowy pics from Saskatoon. Road and sidewalk conditions are dramatically better than they were even a week ago, nevermind right after the blizzard. The snow clearing was ahead of schedule last time I checked, and things are more or less back to standard winter conditions.

Some pics from today... This snow is about 80cm deep. The top is icy and hard: I "walked" up through these trees. It was kinda fun but that snow was pretty sharp on the hands

Short Roadtrip, November 23-25, 2020 All days were sunny, warm-hot and quite breezy. Mainly spent time swimming, beach hopping and chilling with a mate. Went north to towns like Lancelin, Cervantes, Jurien Bay, Green Head, Leeman and Dongara. Didn't take many photos November 23rd: Moore River Inlet Lancelin Beach Sandy Cape (campground is right behind where I took the photo, one of the best campsites around) The Pinnacles Sunset at Cervantes

Some pics from today... This snow is about 80cm deep. The top is icy and hard: hope you had snowshoes! you've been good at get snow hiking or snow in mountains this month; has it been snowier than usual there? I should be the one who has the most of that. Don't think even the White Mountains or Adirondacks have more than a few inches of snow this month.
