Took a walk last night, from my downstairs beer fridge, down the driveway and out onto the street to capture the sunset. Was well worth the effort !

Some pics from today at Seymour. Pics start at the higher elevations. Fucker almost buried in the front...holy fuck. Different angle. Pretty sure this equipment hasn't been here more than a couple days. Fuck...almost buried that sign: These fuckers aren't faring so well though Drove to a lower and less snowy elevation. Fuck it was slushy there. It was drizzling here Lush! Tons of running water everywhere. Literally surrounded by water. Nice little stream here Slush mixed with mud Another lush stream Lush moss with some slush on it

Never been this inactive in a photo thread before. Pictures from when I shovelled snow in the very beginning of the month: At this point "meteorological spring" had already arrived a week before. Sunny and 5-8'C weather every day for a week. Very nice. Some more shots this month: 11pm on the 21st. 2 hours earlier there had apparently been some extremely intense auroras around Umeå, but nothing when I looked. Disappointing. I had some nice sunsets. This one in particular was spectacular. The sky was very active that evening (a few days ago), with some mammatus clouds as well as pearlescent clouds half an hour earlier. Sunset is also noticably occuring further and further to the west and north. Very intense fog a couple days ago. Couple days ago: I don't think I've ever seen snow this consistently dirty before. There hasn't really been any snowfall of significance for well over a month. This train stopped right after the train station. I wonder why. This has got to be the most pathetic and depressing looking snow slope ever. On the main downtown square. Yesterday. 9'C and sunny with 0.0m/s winds. With only a sweater it was still on the warm side rather than the cool side. Still some obscene snow amounts. Also cool how you can clearly see layering from the major snow falls.

Went for a walk through the woods by the river near Saskatoon yesterday. It was around 0C and nearly windless - colder than ideal for late March, but nearly perfect weather and scenery for mid-winter.

Starting to cool down in inland Northern Canterbury. High of 25C the other day, although down to 3C overnight. That's weird, I didn't know spruces and cypresses/cedars/tujas existed in NZ. That just looks like PNW

Fuck, I've been slacking on posting photographs lately, sorry for being irregular. Went for a stroll in the Neusiok Trail along the shoreline of the Neuse River, starting from the Pine Cliff Recreation Area in the morning of March 14th, 2021. Not much leaf out at the time but there were some blooms. Lots of downed trees and significant beach erosion from Hurricane Florence is still there.

Lots of people out and about yesterday with the seasonable 12°C weather. Wondering how crowded it would have been if the 25°C temps predicted early this week happened over the weekend.

Tonight's pre-blizzard sunset, seen from the grocery store parking lot. It had been an amazing 18C sunny afternoon and then I went for a quick grocery run and took this photo afterwards while it was still a very mild 16C or so. After a day like this it's hard to believe that we have a winter storm coming tomorrow with 10cm of snow and 70 to 100 km/h winds, but hey... that's March in Saskatchewan for you.

That just looks like PNW yea, mountain shapes look a bit but otherwise looks almost identical to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. or maybe on Vancouver Island by edmountain. wrong time of year for the PNW to look like that ofc

Snowy aftermath from yesterday's blizzard, taken this morning when it was around -12C with a fierce wind. A lot of the snow has melted already and we're going back up well above freezing starting tomorrow so the rest will likely be gone by the end of the day.
