Overcast and mid-50s. Starting to get green but still a ways to go.

Took a short walk at nearby Delaplane Preserve on a very hot day. Reached 91 F (33 C) this afternoon. Lindenleaf hibiscus. I'm growing a couple of these at home. Nice pine flatwoods Royal palms - native to FL but not to my area. This seems to be a naturalized population escaped from cultivation. They seem to like brackish tidal swamps. The end of the trail - a dock on the South Fork of the St. Lucie River

Spring is coming along nicely here now, this is from last weekend's trout fishing experience. Snow in the forecast again Wednesday though

King Jarrah Hike (18km loop). Drove the 1.5 hour trip down to Dwellingup, a pleasant hill town known for it's hiking trails, MtB tracks and cool, wet climate. First 5-6km are on an undulating, pretty non-descript track. Started around 19C at the beginning of my hike, ended around 22C. The first 1/3 was primarily mostly cloudy with some light smoke haze (nearby controlled burns) before it cleared to a mostly sunny afternoon. Bit of bubbly cumulus about but not threatening to rain. Photos of the track:

London skyline taken from a hill in Lightwater at the weekend. Notable lack of foliage for the time of year. Ascot Racecourse on the horizon.

18°C and these past couple days, adding to the ever worsening drought. This is how you grow trachys if you really want to (house to the right). Still wrong, but less of an offensive sight.

Tree-lined streets feature either blossoms or fully leafed out trees:
Amazing how far ahead Paris is, when there is usually no difference at all! It probably has a bit to do with the UHI and the species planted. There's a budding ash in the backyard, though birches are leafed out. Normandy was quite bare a couple weeks ago. If you've been to central London recently, how are the trees there? And what about Lorraine DG57 AJ1013?

Hiked the Gabrielino Trail this afternoon, in the Angeles Nat'l Forest. Temperature was in the mid to upper 60s F at the time of making the following pictures. Didn't have the time to make pictures of Switzer Fall itself, but hiked about a mile and a half of the trail—overall an enjoyable hike though.

Forest earlier appears to be live oak?

With the pollen haze and the August-like sun angle, it looks like a hot and humid summer day. The gently convective skies add to the feeling. Didn't have the time to make pictures of Switzer Fall itself, but hiked about a mile and a half of the trail—overall an enjoyable hike though. Wow the first few photos look pretty lush. I thought you were somewhere in NC at first!
