^^ He is quick !! Match evenly poised at the end of day 2 Bowled up to 96-97mph at one point! First session today will probably decide the series. Australia have the weather on their side though, as thunderstorms are forecast this afternoon and on Monday.

Bairstow should never be in the test side again. Cost us the first 2 tests and now getting out shambolically again. We'd be 3-0 up by now if Foakes was keeping.

Agreed, poor keeper and out of sorts with the bat. I'm not sure what Foakes has done to personally offend the selectors. He's been the best keeper in England for years.

Baring intervention by rain, England will win this one... Yeah we got rekt. Thankfully the rain is inbound sometime today. I bet stokes will declare today but I think overall even if you try to force the result there isn't enough time

I bet stokes will declare today but I think overall even if you try to force the result there isn't enough time England would love another 150 runs in the first session tonight and then decare if not bowled out.... 2 sessions in the afternoon to make some inroads into the Aussie batting lineup, and then hope some play is able to happen on the rainy 4th and 5th days to wrap it up. They're in the box seat...

Day 4 is a total write off but day 5 looks like it'll have plenty of time to bowl out the rest of the Australians, assuming they don't completely collapse by this evening.
My plan today would be to get a quick 200-250 lead and then rip through their batting lineup, maybe 6 or 7 down by close.

As this series goes on, its plain to see that the 'Bazball' thing has flummoxed the Aussies tactically... they have zero idea how to combat it with their field placings and short stuff. Having said that, when 'Bazball' doesn't come off, the batting looks very ordinary.....

The only reason there has been a contest at all is because of Bairstow's terrible keeping in the first 2 tests. He takes a few of those catches and England would have won the Ashes at Headingley.

Yeah man I don't know what to say there, we could have batted better and won in Headingley. Should have, could have. That sort of stuff is irrelevant now.
You guys have won the toss every time and have always had the ideal weather for if you're batting or bowling. It's unfair, but not much you can do about it.

As it did in 2019 Nah, Indian fans would just be quoting test results from like 15 years ago. I don't recall them complaining about weather or anything, but wouldn't surprise me. I'm just saying what I've observed. And yeah for once in this series we will have "favourable" weather, even though it (likely) results in none or barely any play

Well fuck, they actually played yesterday. Seems we did alright though, which is nice but unexpected given how the rest of the test has gone

Seems we did alright though, which is nice but unexpected given how the rest of the test has gone Hopefully the umpires go by the precedent they already set in the first test, when England had to bat in a thunderstorm in darker conditions than any seen yesterday, and the Australians were allowed to bowl their quicks.
