Anyway, just wanted to post this good news here:
A small shred of decency and common sense in an increasingly infantile and deranged world. Surprising too that it comes from the International Olympic Committee. I thought they were at the behest of the leftists who push the racism narrative but I guess I was wrong on that!
Athletes will not be allowed to wear clothing with the slogan “Black Lives Matter” at the Tokyo Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee has decided, reiterating that it plans to enforce the Games’ “Rule 50,” which bans political or social justice protests of any kind at the international athletic event set to take place in just a few weeks.
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that the IOC’s rules against “slogans” with a political or social justice meaning are “granular” this year and that the IOC has specifically banned apparel bearing the racial justice mantra, “Black Lives Matter.”

Maybe it's just me, but I het the sense that people aren't as interested this time around, because Covid and other stuff have diminished the spectacle. Bad luck for Japan in terms of timing, but at least it's going ahead.
My favorite part at the opening ceremony was the instant 50 pictograms action, brilliant and well done. Kinda shocked when Naomi Osaka appeared as the last runner to do lighting the Olympic cauldron. It was just unexpected considering her relation with Japanese media. Guess the Japanese used the omotenashi tactic to display the exterior manner in the global show.

Bit of a shock in the Taekwondo, Jade Jones lost in the first round, she's won Gold in the last 2 games and was expected to do so again.
I think the swimming's coming up, so we'll probably get our first gold medals in that. Adam Peaty's our safest bet in terms of medals because he's a freak, he sets world records every time he swims, so it looks like nobody can beat him, but you never know.
Rance won Murica in basketball. Dream Team my ass.
Quite an embarrassment. First Olympic basketball loss since 2004. I was one year old then!
The world has simply improved access to the game while US talent has already maxed out essentially. Also not having the veteran chemistry of the group of Lebron, Melo, and Wade hurts too.
This loss is no surprise however. With Luka and Giannis both being top 5 NBA players and international players increasing every year, this has been coming for a while. Essentially what I’m saying is the US hasn’t gotten worse, but the rest of the world has merely improved. Even Finland with Lauri Markkanen.
