Pretty cool that the girl who smashed it and won gold for GB in the BMX today was an amateur, who was able to compete thanks to a large online crowdfunding campaign.

First time since 1980 that we haven't won a Gold in the rowing, that used to be our safe bet.

Currently Iβm watching mixed relay triathlon, 27.8Β°C and 81% humidity(=DP 24.2Β°C) right now in Tokyo. I feel bad for all the athletes, swimming in Odaiba must be really unhygienic too.

We're red hot favourites for this triathlon, won silver in men's and women's, should translate to gold in the combined, hope we get it...

France gets the first medal ever in the Olympicβs Triathlon events, congrats! I thought Luis was beating Yee during the cycling session then his pace couldnβt keep up eventually. Also well done USA!

We had a runner who won a 100m sprint heat with a time of 10.01s, the second fastest time in Australian history.

Now France's ahead of Korea. Ties in the gold medal count, but 6 more silver medals. - Localized torrential rain occurred around the Olympic Stadium during Women's 400m Hurdles Semi-Final, meanwhile the JMA official Tokyo weather station located 3km east received only a trace at that hour.

Canadian women beat the US in the football semis! Nice to finally avenge the 2012 defeat.
Hope we can go all the way and win the gold now.

Nice to see Andre De Grasse become the first man to medal for Canada during these Olympics too, after finishing 3rd in the 100m. His starts really let him down so I'm thinking he could be more of a favourite for gold in the 200m.
On a related note in athletics - it was pretty crazy to see one of the women's 1500m heats yesterday, after the Dutch woman (Sifan Hassan) fell with only one lap to go, was dead last but still recovered to win the heat. She's also competing in the 5,000m (where she won gold just a few hours after competing in that 1500m heat) and 10,000m so it'll be quite the feat if she can medal in all three events over the span of just a few days.

Australia have been bossing so far, really good total for a country of their size.
