Finally going to post these. Part I: I hiked, and summited Monte Vettore (8,123 ft; 2,476 meters)—the highest peak of the Sibillini massif, part of the Appennines on July 1st.

Part II: This is the album for pics from Moscow. Maybe this would be a better fit for the non-weather photo thread, but I'm just gonna leave these here (the mods can move this post to the non-weather photo thread later if needed). Most of the attractions/locations I've been to more than once this trip, but I've mostly been making effort in photographing the first week of my trip. A few shots from Red Square (July 11th)

Part III: This is an album for pics from my trip to St. Petersburg (July 24th—26th). Canal pics. Was cold (high's been 69°F (21°C) on the 24th, the first day of my trip)

Pics from a trip in the Dordogne and Aveyron areas of SW France. Downpour on our way soufff. Stopping in Orleans Drought damage in a nearby forest. Lots of dead trees everywhere. Sad. Already in the Souffff, in the aptly named Collonges-la-Rouge (Collonges-the-Red) You can tell it's been wet. Nearby village of Turenne, seat of the world-renowned viscounty of Turenne. Lots of hollyhock there Hot air balloons over the Dordogne river: Aww Town of Terrasson Brantôme, the so-called "Venice of the Périgord". Indeed, there are a couple of bridges. Downstream from Brantôme lies the lovely village of Bourdeilles In Périgueux Let's pretend it's sleeping. La Roque-Gageac Lots of albizias there Canoeing on the Dordogne Castelnaud castle, which was English during the 100 years' war: Unmistakenly British indeed, they've kept the narrow roads. Beynac stayed on the French side: Overlooking an English castle on the other bank of the Dordogne river. I remembrance, I farted in their general direction: It was clearing up fast. Stopped in Gourdon heading southeast Stopped again in Rocamadour. This is the Lombard Street of pedestrians: On the banks of the Tarn river near Millau Big viaduct there: That part of Aveyron definitely has a Mediterranean flair. Indeed, there are cicadas: This hamlet is only accessible via a zipline across the river: Bathing in the Tarn river. It was warm for once (31°C/88°F): Back in NW Aveyron, everything's nice and green. Behold, this is a 5th century ruin. In the big Catholic pilgrimage site of Conques, on the way to Santiago de Compostela:

A mix of shit: Photos at work dated the 18th July and a camping trip from July 25th-26th Some photos at work when I bit of spare time on a drive. July 18th: Just a good way to show the land that I work in and around, it's a beautiful yet desolate place. Camping Trip: July 25th-26th Snottygobble Loop Campsite Windy Harbour and Point D'Entrecasteux. Got up very early from my campsite and drove the 45 min drive down to Windy Harbour, traipsed around for a couple of hours before meeting some family in Pemberton, and finally driving back to Perth that evening. One of the more spectactular views, from Windy Harbour beach looking at Point D'Entrecasteaux Cliffs around Point D'Entrecasteaux Salmon Beach: famous for surfing, swimming and fishing. Also I broke my leg here when I was 12 jumping off of a 4-5m high rock, spent about 1 hour there before some surf-lifesavers could fashion a makeshift stretcher and take me up to an ambulance where I spent another day in the small Pemberton hospital before being sent up to Perth to an actual hospital. Possibly my favourite view in a long time, these never-ending cliffs jutting out over the ocean; disappearing into the watery sunshine on a winters day. Warning Geology Porn

Little creature I saw today: Approaching rain around sunset: Funnel cloud on the right of the second image?

It was 37C on my evening walk last night and thankfully not too smokey though there was a bit of haze in the sky. This was probably our last burst of real heat of the summer and it was good to get out and enjoy it.

Enjoyed the nice weather by taking a stroll at the local park. Temp in the mid-to-upper 70s with dews in the 50s.

greysrigging Cool, I've never seen pics of the snow level that low in Hobart before. Looks like coastal BC/Norway/Alaska/Chile.
