The low/high at the airport (Trondheim Airport): Mar 1th: -20.5°C / -4.8°C ! Mar 2th: -16.4°C / -0.8°C Low last night -7.7°C, temp now -2.4°C, probably passed 0°C in the city. Seven ice days in a row untill today.

Our low temps are not as severe as -20 thank god, was down to -8/-9°C.

I bought a book online called "Regional Climates of the British Isles".
For some reason it only has the 1961-1990 average for the UK and Buxton's numbers are fuckin' ridiculous! Apparently the average high was just 4°C in February and in July it was just 17.7°C!!!!!
It's about 19°C in the 1981-2010 period. All I can say is if this is global warming, bring it the fuck on!

Most of the official climate data here is based on the now ancient 1961-90. As we probably have warmed more than the UK being higher latitude, imagine how misleading that is!

I'm looking forward to the first Thunderstorms and hailstorms now. A rumble of thunder and a flash of lightning during a humid day bringing air from the bay of Biscay. Ahhh...

I'm looking forward to thunderstorms this summer as well, one thing I don't like about March/April is that it seems to be sunny and clear nearly all the fucking time. Especially when cold fronts are lacking, boring (though there hasn't been a shortage so far). Tomorrow has thunderstorms in the forecast along the passage of a front, as well as Sunday.

Interesting how different people are in real life compared to weather forums. Every single person I've spoken to (quite a few) have all said how much they hated the cold snap and how happy they are all the snow has gone now. Then again it was bad here with much disruption, the town cut off and lots of burst pipes. Apparently some people in this apartment were flooded with a burst pipe two days ago. Thankfully, not me.

Yeah, I don't think I know anybody here that has been positive about the cold weather. I enjoyed seeing some snow, but the roads were horrendous, the schools closed, and it was just a general pain in the arse tbh. My 16 mile commute to work took me over 2 hours one morning last week. Absolute shite! The weather wasn't as bad as Buxton though thankfully! Warm spring days soon though

Funnily enough, my sister decided to have a winter wedding at a venue near Linton airbase in Yorkshire back in December, and the day we all had to go home from the hotel was the day it snowed. Awful slow journey home again with 1-2" of snow falling and apparently that was the first time it had snowed around there for years. Talk about typical timing.

I think weather enthusiasts are more inclined to not care about inconveniences the weather creates, and more about experiencing something out of interest. So comparing to people in real life might be a bit misguided.
I notice the opposite down here to be honest. I rarely come across someone who praises the heat here in summer or the storms. Even at the beach or pool most people bitch about the heat and the intense sun lol. In reality, most "normies" probably want 20-25 C highs and 10-15 C lows all the time.

Seriously. What the actual fuck. Stockholm hasn't gone above freezing since the 17th of February and there's not a single >0'C temperature in the 14 day forecast. For them to have gone two weeks in the end of February is remarkable on its own, but to have another two weeks of consecutive ice days - in March? What the hell? I wonder what the record for February and March is. I guess they might've seen ice months before, but in January, not February/March. I'm going there today, and a month ago I was expecting to arrive in time for spring, with birds chirping, 5-10'C sunny weather and flowers springing up. Not overcast, windy and snowy -10'C conditions. Wtf. Really that's quite surprising? Those would be our kind of early March temps (or even lower), it's not rare to have snow and ice for us in March, so i'm surprised you'd be expecting a big thaw in Sweden.

Average high is 2'C in early March, so 7'c is quite common. Especially since the last 4 marches have been above average. 2015 saw 16'C on the 8th.
