Yep that spring was a piece of shit. Most notable to me was how we had no leaves on the trees here until early June! Have a sad feeling it will be similar this year.

This spring has been a roller coaster down here. It came close to hitting 90 F on March 1st/2nd, then we had several morning lows in the 40/lower 50s following that, then another warm up to temps in the mid-80s, and then it dropped to 44 F (7 C) on the 15th and had lots of cool mornings in the low 50s, big warm up from Sunday-Tuesday and it even hit 91 F (33 C) yesterday! And now another cool down with lows in the lower 50s and upper 40s the next two nights. Been a rather fun ride. Much better than it being consistently 5-10 F above average.

People on the radio are saying it's going to snow at Easter. What? Lol. Welcome to the club. They're predicting a well below average snowy pattern for the first half of April here now, as if this total fail or a March wasnt enough!

Our 1981-2010 January average: 5.5/0.5 Our March 2018 average so far: 4.4/0.1
Ugh, I fail to see how anybody can welcome this after it's already been chilly enough for months. This month has been like March in one of these southern Scandinavian climates where I say I like the January and the July but I still couldn't live there because the winters drag on too long.

I know I'm in the minority when it comes to enjoying a cold spring, but part of the reason is that it makes the long hot summers a little more bearable.

Plus this March has only had 27 sun hours so far as well, it might even end up our dullest month of the whole 2017-18 winter

though December was even worse with a grand total of 8 sunshine hours and rain almost every day, this March is at least dry and even sunny from time to time.

Me personally I like March to still be cold, but noticeably warmer than January. March was our coldest month during 2013 lol, but it's not like averages are significantly different so having March colder than January here isn't that much of a big deal, though probably still uncommon.

But still I keep my fingers crossed this pattern won't last into April.

Kind of unrealistic to expect March to be a glorious spring month anyway. We're just coming off the heels of winter. That's why I don't expect September to flip like a switch and be fall-like with crisp temperatures. It's essentially a slightly cooler version of summer just like March is a slightly warmer version of winter.
