They've massively downgraded this weekend's forecasts, altho at least we got a nice 71F day out of it. Until Monday it looks below average but not truly cold, highs around 50F maybe? Tuesday looks fucking brutal, no excuse for that weather. Hard to predict, but aside from Wednesday next week looks like a shit show. A horrible forecast even by Bunghole standards

Supposed to get 1.6-2.6โ by Monday according to the NWS with at least a 50% chance of rain every day next week. Couldnโt think of a worse forecast. At least next Sunday is forecast to get to 57, but thatโll definitely be downgraded and rain will probably be added.

First day above 20c in Norway today Apr 14th: 21.5c in Etne, SW, near Bergen, was warmest. We beat Ireland, Iceland and...UK?
Warmest in my region seems to have been 17.5c at Frosta just NE of Trondheim. Warmest in Trondheim: 16.2c (Lade, 13 m)
Another clear and sunny day.

So here's an argument as to why 15 year normals are completely valid at least for measuring Swedish sunshine. So between 1983 and 2013, the sunshine has increased pretty steadily at 10h/y. And I also calculated the standard deviation for the last 15 years and found it to be 22. That means that the recorded average between 2002 and 2016 would, with a 95% certainty be within 44h of the "true" average. However, 2002-2016 is 13.5 years later than 1981-2010, meaning the the sunshine has had a natural increase of about 135h according to the long term trend. So sure, the shortness of a 15 year period is expected to negatively affect the average by up to 44h (95% certainty), but the 1981-2010 period on the other hand is expected to be 135h more inaccurate according to the trend. So viewing it like that, the shorter, but more recent 2002-2016 period is quite significantly the lesser of two evils compared to the more accurate but outdated 1981-2010 period. Hence why I don't think it's fair to ridicule our usage of the 2002-2016 period. Source of data:

Whaler's kind of weather today.
Currently 0C and a wintry mix. Winds 40kph gusting to 50. Today's high was 2C and there has been rain, sleet, and snow so far. Should be snow and some ice tonight since it'll get below freezing.
Edit: now it's sleet (ice pellets)

When you guys say budding/buds, do you mean they're leafing? Because to me, buds are these things and budding means these are starting to grow, not leafing out. But when you guys says a tree is starting to grow buds, do you mean that this is happening? Because this is a bud bursting or leafing, not "a tree starting to grow buds", but you seem to use budding to mean buds bursting.

Nope, I meant budding. The buds are closed. Some bushes will burst in leaf in maybe 2-3 days time.
