Australia's record of 35.5C is not that impressive in the scheme of things really.

Ended up being the coldest June maximum since 1993 for the city.
For us it's the coldest since 2010, so not too long ago here.
It shouldn't rise up again, but weirder shit has happened.

Eggedal is apparently at 300m and even so manages to have the warmest highs in much of the summer in all of the nordics. Wtf.

When it rains in non- Mediterranean Europe (in places with highs in the 22-28c range) what are the dewpoints? Usually almost 100% humidity when it rains so unless it cools a lot, dewpoints will be high

Porthmadog recording 32.6C so far today. So for the 3nd time in 3 days it has recorded the warmest temperature in the UK so far this year.

I don't get how people in a climate like the UK hate hot weather so much....I would understand if it were people in Arizona dealing with a heat wave but in the UK? Can't people just appreciate something that's different from the norm?

Can't people just appreciate something that's different from the norm? The way I see it, it makes more sense. People aren't acclimatized to hot weather, and our buildings are insulated without air-con. 5 million people are using the London Underground each day, which often surpasses 40C in these condition.

I feel like some of the people saying my forecast of 5 days of 35C looks βfunβ are assuming I have A/C I get English arenβt acclimatized to heat but londonβs forecast has highs of 27-29c; maybe a bit annoying but not that hot

Wales and Scotland could realistically finish the year with the hottest temperatures in the UK! That can't happen very often at all!

Often in places with 17-19C highs in July.

Yea, I can see how that's annoying. But heat is rarely that long-lasting in the UK, I still think people should appreciate something different. Although I agree heat with no A/C isn't fun at all.

It's mainly wrinkly old farts who complain. Young people generally enjoy it.
