Had a thick cloud layer in the morning which prevented temps from getting to the forecast again, but they cleared in the afternoon. Temp shot up from 57 f at noon to 70 f at 2 PM, typically well past when such warming occurs.
High ended up reaching 77 (25 c), very warm but the March record high will last another year. Very dry too with relative humidity dipping to 9%.

I've noticed today that quite a lot leaves and flowers of have started to make an appearance, practically overnight. It's typical that we're forecast a couple of freezes over the next couple of days that'll throw a spanner in the works. Seems to happen every time we have an early bloom.

Of course the shitty weather station went offline yesterday in the midst of record cold and it's still off. The next closest one in Andover, NJ (K12N) recorded a high of only 31 F/-1 C. Another cold day today with Andover reporting a temperature of 32 F/0 C at noon but it should get above freezing this afternoon.

Coincidentally, my PWS went down yesterday evening as well and hasn't come back up since...thankfully no record cold here, just blase 30s, but still annoying.

Much cooler today with periods of rain. High was 58 (14 c) at midnight and the afternoon oscillated between 47-55 (8-13 c) depending on whether it was raining or not.
Mostly light rain, total was 0.08β (2 mm).
Definitely signs of spring the past weekβgrass is turning greener and some bushes/small trees have buds or even little leaves. Still an overall wintry look though.

Large area modelized with a snow cover for early April. Models have been stable after all. I'll trust it when I see it though, yesterday's storms never came to fruition.

The marginal chance of wintry precipitation was removed from today's forecast. Just a slight chance of rain this afternoon. Forecast high of 44 F/7 but a cold start to the day with a low of 22 F/-6 C. Just made it above freezing as of the 10:00AM update.
Mild tomorrow with a forecast high of 66 F/19 C before leveling off to more seasonable temperatures (50s/30s).

Stationary line of downpours just south of here (4 hour long loop!). We need that water here too! This convective activity was triggered by this unexpected, localized cloudless area you see stretching in an east-west direction on the sat map below. No clouds earlier = rain later, funny stuff:

Absolutely fucken bullshit here last couple days, hurricane force southerlies, freezing mornings, and FAKE WARMTH.... i.e. feels warm in the sun, warm in the workplace, only to discover it is fucking 19C at midday well short of the already pathetic below average forecast Same cancer will continue on ofcourse, I'm sure I'll get many days of southerly wind driven dust in my eyes at work. What a disappointing fail at life end to an otherwise decent March.

Tonight might be a historic night, sadly.
The coldest temp Turku has had in April during the new normals is -10.9C, and the forecast low according to FMI is -11C. Foreca however forecasts only -8C. The coldest the Artukainen station has recorded in April is -9.9C, so a station record might be broken.
If we go below -10.9C, it will be the coldest Turku temp since 1977.
Helsinki Airports 91-20 record is -12.1C from 1998, so that should be safe.
Fingers crossed that it will be a fizzer.

March 2022 has been the sunniest March of Germany, beating 1953 by a long shot.

Looks like it'll be a fizzer around these parts. Large area with potential snow tho given it's April.
