This should be the final total. Edit: It was not. Snow on the 22nd. Getting more snow this spring is extremely unlikely but still technically possible. A trace could still happen. October: 0.1" November: Trace December: 5.3" January 23.3" February: 17.5" March: 0.8" April: 0.8" Total: 47.8" (121.4cm) Days with snow falling/lying: October: 2/1 November: 3/0 December: 14/5 January: 19/13 February 15/8 March: 5/1 April: 3/1 Total: 61/29 The days with snow falling are days where the NWS reports a trace. Snow lying means the total was 0.1" or more. Days with snow cover: October: 0 November: 0 December: 2 January: 31 February: 28 March: 8 April: 0 Total: 69

There are three major snow pile storage areas in Umeå, and a fourth is being built. At these places the snow lasts well into summer, and there are workers driving diggers who dig out the snow from underneath the isolating layers of gravel and dirt to make the snow melt quicker. This winter saw a record amount of snow in Umeå though, 1.5 million cubic meters of snow was transported to these storage areas, and I read a couple articles today about how the snow likely won't manage to melt away this summer, despite the municipality's greatest efforts of accellerating the snow melt. There are plans to possibly start dumping snow into the river, and a grant was given by the county to do so (of course the snow would have to be cleaned bedore being dumped so that it's not dirty). Picture I took of one of the snow piles on June 23rd.

Just 0.4” (1 cm) so far here on November 1st.
Normal is 8” (20 cm) by now, last year already had 20.8” (53 cm).
Last time with this little was 2016, before that 2008. And no snow in the forecast either.

Saskatoon officially got around 6 cm the other day. We have a nice snowy landscape now, however the non-major roads are pretty crappy.
