Went to Kew Gardens today. The conditions were mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks, quite humid and a temperature of 19c. Cherry blossoms, mostly past their peak now. Pagoda with an A320 approaching Heathrow.

Was in the capital several weeks ago for a couple of days. The first day I visited was beautiful but the remainder of my trip was galeforce winds and cloud - true Wellington weather. Looking down across the city.

Very nice pics longaotian. I'm not an expert in botany, though vegetation looks a bit out of place for a cool oceanic climate. Are those Nikau palms in this pic?

A trip out to the barrier island which is preserved as a state park to install a weather station. Upper 70s temps with dew points around 60 F. It was a short boat ride across the intracoastal to get over there. A boardwalk led from one side of the island to the other through mangrove swamps and tropical hammock communities. One of the many tidal creeks crossing the island It was another mile walk on this north-south service road. Bluff at the northern end of the island by St. Lucie Inlet Weather station installed At the beach, part of the longest undeveloped shoreline south of Cape Canaveral

Thanks. Yes they are, their form is quite different depending on whether or not they are above or below the canopy. Once Nikau get exposed to more sunlight, they take their more distinctive upright form.

Fortunately clouds thinned enough here Monday afternoon to see the eclipse at times! I was worried I wouldn't be able to see anything. This was near max coverage. Thunderstorm forming in the area around this time.

Another perfect day in one of the best months we've had in a very long time, weather-wise. High/low of 82 F/44 F (28 C/7 C) at my Allapattah Flats station. Went to another section of Allapattah Flats to see some wildflowers and install an additional station. Rhynchospora latifolia Polygala balduinii White-tailed deer hiding in the marsh Polygala cymosa This old post happened to be the perfect height to mount my transmitter to.

Pine Cliff/Neusiok Trails (northwestern section) this afternoon. Temps were vanilla, in the lower 70s though comfortable dewpoints around 60Β°F and mostly clear skies made for a pleasant hike. Starts off as an equestrian trail, mostly pine stand

Currently staying in Arrowtown, a small village in the mountains of Central Otago. Its currently peak autumn here, and I'd say this area easily has some of the best fall foliage in NZ. Since I've been here the average daily high has been around 14C and down to about 4c most nights & clear skies.
