Spent the past couple days in Marin county, north of San Francisco. West coast beaches have cool rock formations, much better than bland east coast beaches. This is Rodeo Beach: Thought this picture of the waves came out well with the clouds: > < Hills rose right up from the beach. The scrub reminds me of Colorado in May. > < Golden Gate Bridge: > < Went for a 6 mile hike in the hills in central Marin the next day. Pretty lush forest at the start with some redwoods: > < Eventually climbed into more open slopes filled with oaks. This forest type is very idyllic, like what youβd expect the shire to look like. > < Views opened up to the hillsides above. Was a beautiful day with temps around 60 and lots of bird song. Wouldβve had no idea it was early March if I hadnβt known the date. > < Good views of Mount Tamalpais, the highest point in the county: > < Mount Tamalpais from central Corte Madera: > < Hills to the north: > < Went for another short hike that afternoon by one of the reservoirs. > < Was gonna go to Point Reyes yesterday but it was pouring rain so just stayed in. Wouldβve liked to do more hiking but was visiting my friend so spent time doing other stuff. Definitely want to go back in the future.

Island Creek Walk - part of Croatan Nat'l Forest early this afternoon. Temp was around 80Β°F with 30s dewpoints. Trees still mostly bare, but signs of life are there.

Photos from my trip to Andros, Bahamas I had a 4 hour layover in Nassau. The weather station happened to be located right next to the restaurant where we ate lunch. View from our cabin on Andros I brought my portable weather station with me and mounted to this dead tree on the beach. Had no problems connecting to the cellular network there. Weather was perfect the whole time, mostly sunny with highs in the mid to high 80s and lows in the low 70s. First hike was to Rainbow Blue Hole, one of hundreds of these sinkholes on the island. The beach at Staniard Creek, a bit further north from where we stayed Trail through Caribbean pine forest Understory was of plants almost entirely unfamiliar to me One of the largest blue holes, Captain Bill's Blue Hole The next day we kayaked 2 miles out to a small island Several smaller rocky islands stretched southward On the last day, we drove up the northern end of the island. Here is Uncle Charlie's Blue Hole. The beach at Nicholls Town Morgan's Bluff at the northeast tip of the island Captain Morgan's Cave, supposedly a hideout of the famous pirate Strangler fig roots were growing through cracks in the limestone Lots of bats hanging around inside The west side of the island at Red Bays Back in Nassau where we stayed the last night. Cold front came through that day and the weather turned cloudy and windy.

Currently in southern Burgundy. Lots of flooding in low lying areas, though I don't have pics of it. Pic of greenery instead: Mt Blanc in the distance, about 200 km away: What is this sound again?
