Eventful weather week. Monday morning was cold at -10°C (average low is -8°C) Tuesday morning the ridge brought much milder, humid air. Led to valley fog that took a while to clear. Just clearing Conneticut River was lined with ice chunks just enough light to bike with Wednesday morning started foggy, too later in the afternoon it reached 78°F / 25°C. Reservoirs were still ice-covered clouds (associated with a cold front?) lining the horizon cold ground would bring random cool breezes, and then it would switch to warm breezes half a minute later Brown landscape some more Shelburne Falls grey stone buildings look more out of Quebec than Massachuetts love your enemies but keep your gun oiled leaving the town interesting looking cloud rolling in dirt road was muddier than I've ever seen. Once it got steep I gave up and walked my bike. Looks like no one drive on this road, the middle lacks houses so most drivers must take another way when the road is in poor condition. Thursday evening there were snow flurries. Next morning had neat altocumulus clouds I see this 3 legged dog walked, he manages well

Your new iPhone is taking some pretty good looking images there neiAre the square images from when you accidentally take the images vertically instead of horizontally?

Some quite heavy snowfall today before next week's coldwave hits. Nice and fluffy.

Thanks. no, it's from the Square setting on my phone's camera nei: Your images look a lot more spring-like than it does here now.. Today in Trondheim: Fresh snow overnight and then sun today. Temp ca -3C when I took these images. Sun managed to melt snow on black surfaces. This is at 120 m ASL in a mostly residential area. A day of 25°C will kill the winter look, but it's been above freezing a lot lately. Looks like a real winter wonderland there, got blue sky right after the snow passed? From a snowstorm 5 years ago, a bit similar?

@ Nei: Yeah, looks pretty similar, although it seems as you got a little more snow back then 5 years ago.
It wasn't really a storm here though, just a little cold air from the sea NW of us who dumped that snow here.

Just a couple of pics I took during my break of some stormy skies down here. This dropped quite a heavy downpour with gusty winds. Is it February 26 or June 26? lol

Jajajaja Miami is already warmer than Altea in midsummer. nei love the light in your warm spell pics, for example in this photo: As for Trondheim, how deep is the snowpack there? Nice combination of deep snowpack + blue skies. Pic from NRW a couple weeks ago. A couple centimeters of old snow on the ground just before a new snowfall. On the banks of the Marne river a week ago. Loads of trash on low branches from the recent flood: One can see how high the water reached: Old mill building. One of the first buildings with an apparent steel structure in the world.

That reminds me a lot of the day we had back im November where like 30 cm of snow fell in the night coupled with strong winds shaping the snow.

More snow pics from me, woke up yesterday morning and it had been -6C and blowing snow all night, we literally might not see that combination for another 20 years here so I had to go for a bike ride to get my fill how far is that from your home? Forgot how rural it is near you close to home. Looks like the path by the river was actually bikeable with a lot of effort? What'd you think of -6°C?

Monday. some chunks of ice still lining the river Wednesday. Mild (15°C) but clouded over New England old stone walls this pond still has ice on it. It's about 1100 feet ( 300 m) or so but can't make that much of a difference. even the road had some snow on it. Usually a nicely packed dirt road, never tried it in February. Or March. Or even April shoulda realized I reached the point of no more maintence. Or plowing. Think it marked the border of state forest land and the state doesn't bother plow it. got worse, hard tell if ice covered if safe to bike on mud was bad too. Mostly walked, but tried biking a few sections. Turned out packed ice was better than softer, which it was mostly of the time, as I'd sink into the slush. Didn't like the idea of biking on ice on any amount of downhill, though my brakes appeared to work. Meant to go to a fire tower that I frequently bike to in the warmer month, but the road to that was iced over and didn't want to bother walk up as it was getting close to sunset. Paved and unicy road finally sunset looking down the valley towards home descent felt kinda chilly, should have brought an extra layer ======================== did a short bike ride around sunset the next time [Thursday]. Another dirt road than had gotten wet. Not sure if by rain or flooding. Look how perfect the dirt road is. Not soft, no puddles, no loose dirt or gravel. A road. Got a bit soft and muddy further on, but nothing extreme like the hill dirt roads where melting snow had saturated the dirt huh, there's ice over this pond too. And it's not at a 1100 feet but at 150 feet. Must have been a thick layer of ice building over the winter that takes time to melt. Last week averaged much higher than freezing
